Bad Radio

Formed - 1987
Disbanded - 1990 (?)

Bad Radio were a funk/rock band based in San Diego, California. Bad Radio was one of the first bands Eddie Vedder sang in, before he hit it big with Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder was not always a member of Bad Radio, previously he had been in bands such as 'Surf and Destroy' 'The Butts' and 'Indian Style' before he became the vocalist for Bad Radio, during the years 1988 and 1989. Before him Keith Wood had been the lead singer between 1987 and 1988 and after Eddie Vedder left, Keith Wood replaced him once again between the years 1989 and 1990.

The band named themselves Bad Radio after their discontent with the lack of good airplay for alternative music on the radio. During the time Eddie Vedder was with Bad Radio they recorded a 12 track demo which was released on limited cassettes copies. The demo contained original songs written by the band and a cover of 'One Step Up' by Bruce Springsteen. The song 'Betterman' was originally performed by Bad Radio and was then later covered by Pearl Jam in the album Vitalogy.

The track listing for the demo is:

1) Homeless (Just wanted you to know) *
2) What the fuck *
3) Believe you me *
4) I'm alive *
5) Crossroads *
6) On step up *
7) Street funky man
8) Sick of Pussies *
9) Better man *
10) Answer *
11) Just a book *

The tracks with a star next to them can be found on Napster, some of the songs aren't of that good quality. If you type in Pearl Jam/Bad Radio, Eddie Vedder and the song title of just Bad Radio, something should come up.

I recommend the songs - Crossroads and Homeless.
