Introduction

The Flower Horn (Hua Lo Han) belongs to the Cichlid species. This auspicious feng shui fish ha sthe most beautiful excotic colours and shapes to attract aquarium enthusiasts. By nature, flower horns are aggressive and territorial in their living environment.

Examing the forehead of the flower horn can help in differntiating the sexes. Matured males have bulging forehead and are normally bigger.
Tips on Rearing Flower Horn

1. Feed live food (e.g. blood worms, small fishes & prawns)

2. Keep water between PH 7.0 to PH 7.8

3. Place a mirror near the aquarium to get the fish excited. It will try to chase out the mirror image and the hump on the head will get bigger and the colouration of the fish will be enahnced

4. Place colourful stones in the aquarium and display colourful posters behind the aquarium

5. Display natural wood to allow weaker fishes to hide from the more agressive fishes
