Time Treasured

Falling into the deep brown wells of your eyes,
forgive me, my love, if I begin to romanticize,
And wax poetic about your handsome countenance,
with gentle pecks on the cheek--both sides for balance,
Running my fingers tenderly through your dark hair,
the length of which, pulled back looks so debonair,
Yet falling in our faces, secludes us as we kiss deeply,
and the world, shut out, shrinks down to just "We,"
In perfect harmony, the rhythm of our private kiss,
whispers of what is to soon to be--a form of genesis,
As I wrap my arms around you and pull you near,
my tongue is drawn to play with the rings in your ear,
We tangle together--both our body's and soul's bare,
and in the bliss of two merging into one we share,
Poets, philosophers, dreamers, in concert blending,
and thus to heavenly realms of union ascending,
mingling from separateness into a single inspired soul,
Entwined with your body and spirit I finally feel whole,
In this cold world, the feeling of completeness is so rare,
that when found, the power of the spell is beyond compare,
My fingers and eyes sweep over, then linger on, your face,
Your golden skin feels warm as I snuggle into your embrace,
As I lay my drowsy head down upon your firm chest,
I feel at peace in your powerful arms as we rest,
I dote on you with tenderness and also many a sigh,
Just being in your company is enough to make me high,
A multitude of complements arise for us to discover,
like how our names couple; perfect for a "King's" lover,
You call me by the essence of my name--"Princess,"
And just as you are the Priest, I am your Priestess,
You being devoted especially to the Nordic magicks,
with the wisdom of ancient spiritualities you transfix,
Then you play the drums for me, as I catch your glance,
and we are both enraptured in the beat to which I dance,
At other times, our hearts burst forth with laughter,
at some silliness that we will remember hereafter,
For nothing in this world can equal the pleasure,
of time spent alone together, which I so treasure.
