Dear Treasure
My love, the heavens meshed together starlight and moonbeams,
and you were born,
They touched your cheeks with sunrise,
and in your eyes of twilight set the stars,
upon your lips placed the blush of setting sun,
and caught the rays of sunlight for your hair,
They bathed you in their glory, and sent you down to me,
And so it is that you are as radiant and inspiring as the stars,
and yet as natural and comforting,
How many paradoxes you are at once,
blending together to form a perfect union, of one being,
Dear Treasure,
You are a warrior and a princess,
hard and sharp as a stern sword,
yet soft and smooth as the petals of a rose,
Powerful as mighty ocean waves,
delicate as the silky spider web,
Strong like the great oak and adamant as the rock against the wave,
yet gentle as the summer breeze and soothing as the warm sun's rays,
Distant as the eagle soaring through the clouds,
yet as close as your banner on my breast,
(closer still I hold you in my heart,)
Cold as the frost of night you are,
yet warm and as inviting as the burning hearth to a weary traveler,
Do not block out your light,
I come to you tired, in need of nourishment,
Leave me not in the cold,
Open unto me,
Pour out your love and light,
I will not dampen the embyrs that make you burn so brightly,
rather enjoy the heat of your flames,
Bestow your light upon me,
grace me with your warmth,
Let me bask in the glow of your love.
