| Bridge to Fantasy
As children we played, in a magical world, teeming with beauty, where enchantment swirled, The passage to this place, was a bridge in our minds, that led from reality, to fantasies of all kinds, We played merrily, inside a fairy-tale dream, made of twilight, mystery, and silver moonbeam, It was like Terabithia, called by another name, Yet our fantasy kingdom, was much the same, Just the two of us playing, in our shared imagination, captivated by a realm, of our own creation, It was a secret place, that no one else knew, and only the rope swing, in our minds led to, We believed we would never, outgrow our special place, It was a changeless world, that time could not erase, But one day the bridge broke, and you took the fall, I was left alone, with no best friend at all, You grew up on that day, and left behind our memories, so youll never be who you were, and wont reach you possibilities, If you had only held on, to what you believe, you would have all the gifts, that wonder lets you receive, Now my heart is sore, The whole fantasy is my own, Sometimes I still visit, but now I am all alone. |
