| The Devious Nature of Love
Merciless Love, disregards the Will, that struggles with him for sovereignty, like a spider that has stumbled, into anothers perilous web, Ruthless Love, gorges himself on victims, caught straying like children, from the sanctuary of their homes, lured by a stranger with addictive candy, Spiteful Love, seduces the heart, with visions of an elysian wonderland, Leading dreamers who trail gropingly behind with voluntarily plucked out eyes from the logical mind to the treacherous sea of fancy, Pitiless Love, promises fulfillment, traded promptly for an arrow through the heart, So a continually weeping wound, nurses in vain the poison inflicted, dying eternally from one foolish act of trust, Callous Love, dances oblivious, to the lives that he trammels, as his lumbering feet crack, the backs of his bowed minions, Vain Love, worships his own reflection, in the eyes of his despairing slaves, who look to him for the release of death, and are instead left lingering dispossessed, of both life and the hereafter, Cruel Love, ignores the whimpers, of souls inexorably bound by him, as they crawl back like beaten dogs, to beg again for a kindly word, from a master who will only thrash them again, Remorseless Love, reigns with contempt, over the hearts of the disoriented masses, victims of the opiate that he offers as an anesthetic, for the aching cavity in the universal unconscious, that is better left a void. |
