We spent most of our time here in Kauai. When we got there Saturday night, we set out for a grocery store to stock up on food (the greatest thing about timeshares is having your own kitchen!) We ended up at Big Save - more like "Big RIP"!!! Sunday, we went to the resort's "Island Orientation" for the free breakfast & to get familiar with the island. On Monday 9/17, we drove up to north shore for the Princeville Ranch Jungle Waterfall Kayak Adventure - BORING. Scenery was nice, the company was drab. It was just us, a yawner of a couple & the tour guide - not much company. But, we did find ourselves a secluded beach afterwards, called Moloa'a Bay. On Tuesday, we went on a helicopter ride!! Also took some time out to head over to Brennecke Beach - very strong waves that day - Dan nearly got towed into the rocks while boogieboarding. I was too scared to get into the water, with me being pregnant for the first time. Wednesday, we did the Kauai Adventure Trek - a bike, hike & swim tour. Lotsa fun, despite the fact that I ate it in an unlit tunnel - crashed straight into the side. Thursday, we did the SeaFun snorkel tour - AWESOME!! Got to swim with the sea turtles!! On Friday, we drove up to Waimea Canyon to ooh & aah, stopped by Jojo's Shave (not shaved, but SHAVE) Ice, then on to Smith's Garden Luau - waste of money - incredibly hokey show...
One thing you'll notice about Kauai is the number of chickens EVERYWHERE!! We were havin' burgers at Ono Charburgers (YUMMY!!), they're sittin right next to you. At the beach, they come to check out your tanlines. In the middle of the road, they're directing traffic!! |
