| At the Buchanan lease there are several differeent properties, depending on what equipment you have and what you feel like doing depends on where you want to go. I have foung gold on all of the creeks and I know there are pickers and even nuggets on these properties. Some of the propertys have changed so I will try and give you a rundown on some of the changes. A while back the was one or two alarmist whom had decided to discredit members of the GPAA by stating that the GPAA had lost several propertys due to actions of some of the members. OK heres the truth, we lost the 'S' or Smith Property due to it being sold by family members after the passing of Mrs. Smith. The Property behind the school or 'K' and 'G' property was renewed and is open to prospecting, the only difference on that is the 'S' property crosses the road and stops at the small branch that crosses the trail on the 'K' property. Everything else is open to us. Camping: Primitive camp sites are provided all along these creeks, Holcomb creek has camp sites cleared all along the creek, many of the sites are with in 100 feet from the creek. The Farm ( Ft Bovine) Behind the barns and down to the creek the property owner has provided us with an ample camp ground, Firewood and a fire ring is provided for campers. General Information: Buchanan: Piggly Wiggly Food store down town behind the old court house. Several gas stations Gwens Cafe Pizza Farm Bank Tallapoosa: Piggly wiggly food store Several gas stations, the closest is about a mile west of the Farm on hwy 120. several fast food places Grub Stake mining ( out of business) Motel Breman: Several fast food restraunts Mc Donalds, Subway, Arbys, Wendys. A Mexican restraunt, and BBq. Days Inn, Travel Lodge and a Hampton Inn, and a new Holiday Inn Express.
