Program of the Convention
The program includes:
(1) A plenary session, presided by President Daniel Luu, reviewing, among others, the activities carried out by the Florida Division and individual Florida chapters in 2005, proposed 2006 work program and budget, and electing a new executive office for 2006-07;
(2) A review of the Millennium Development Goals (exchange of experience among chapters);
(3) A presentation on �The United Nations and its Role in this Millennium: The First Generation that Can Eradicate Poverty� by Amil Husain, the United Nations Global Youth Coordinator for the Millennium Development Campaign;
(4) A review of Model UN in Florida (by a panel of MUN Directors) and a Simulation of a UN session with students;
(5) A Chapter Development workshop with Young Professional Leaders from South Atlantic Region including South Atlantic representatives, Sultana F. Ali and Xavier Cunningham. Discussion of YPIC and other new programs aimed at recruiting and retaining members
(6) A presentation on �From Cartoons to Culture Clash: A Focus on Cultural Diversity in a Shrinking World� by Bassem Chaaban, Director of Center for Peace

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Current:
Section 1. The Board of Directors of the Florida Division shall consist of the Officers of the Florida Division, the President and one Vice-President of the local Chapter or their appointed alternates certified in writing to the state President, the immediate Past President of the Florida Division, chairpersons of all committees appointed by the President or the Board, and members of the Board of Governors, National Council and/or Council of Chapters and Divisions Presidents (CCDP) Steering Committee of the Association residing in Florida.
New:
Section 1. The Board of Directors of the Florida Division shall consist of the Officers of the Florida Division, the President and one Vice-President of the local Chapter or their appointed alternates certified in writing to the state President, Presidents Emeriti of the Florida Division, chairpersons of all committees appointed by the President or the Board, and members of the Board of Governors, Council of Chapters and Divisions (CCD) Steering Committee of the Association residing in Florida.

Current: The President may serve for two full consecutive terms.
New: Officers may serve two full consecutive terms and, in exceptional cases, an additional term if requested by the Nominating Committee and approved by the Board of Directors
