FLORENCE COUNTY CITIZENS IN ACTION MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
NOVEMBER 23, 2004

1. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Vause at 7:00 p.m., in the Venus Pancake House in Florence. 26 members and guests were present. Ted Vause led the Pledge of Allegiance.
2. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
3. The Treasurer�s Report was received, showing a current balance of $1082.45. A copy of the report is attached to the minutes.
4. Web Site Committee Chairman Walt Ranson reported that a new webmaster is now assist-ing and doing a fine job.
5. The floor was opened for general discussion and matters of information.
Topics included: The November 2 General Election using the new voting equipment.
Ken Ard�s victory over Tom Smith for County Council. Ken thanked FCCIA for its past work in monitoring County Council; spoke about some of his goals for the future including his desire that Council hold one evening meeting per month; pledged to always seek input from FCCIA and its members.
Members briefly discussed FCCIA involvement in municipal matters.
County Treasurer Dean Fowler commented on the elec-tion, and the Attorney General�s opinion regarding carryover of county funds from one fiscal year to the next.
Ted Vause also addressed the fund rollover issue and suggested that Florence County needs its own Ethics Commission.
Chairman Lou Vause announced that we plan to hold a regular meeting in Quinby in the near future, possibly in February.
Treasurer Licia Stone circulated a list of members� e-mail addresses and asked for updates. She advised that all memberships were going to be synchronized beginning in 2006. She also asked for help in distributing our brochures.
Chairman Vause reminded members that the next regular meeting will be in January 2005.
6. As a consequence of comments made during the discussion period, Chairman Vause ap-pointed Jack Nettles, Bill Sebnick, Ted Vause and Gene Brown to a Special Committee to investigate forming a Florence County Ethics Commission.
7. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
