Not only Picasso can mesmerize. Philips Flat and Slim TV models can also do the trick.
" You can hang it on the wall, like a painting, or put in on a stand. It's flat and slim rather than big and bulky. It doesn't occupy much space and is far more elegant in design, and brilliant for a modern environment," tells Porus Sheriar, Rgional Senior Product Manager for Philips Electronics Middle East and Pacific.
Dubbed "the future of television" by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA), the 32-inch 32PF9964 plasma, along with the super slim 50-inch 50PF9964 and 42-inch 42PF9964, offer large-screen viewing, the latest in flat TV gas plasma television technology since the first model was launched in 1997.
But what will probably catch your eye most is the picture quality on plasma. "It's a near-virtual-reality kind of experience," describes Michel Noun, Product Manager for Philips Electronics Middle East and Africa. The completely flat screen gets rid of display distortion so that you not only get a wider viewing angle, but better picture quality in all ambient light conditions, including daylight, Sheriar explains. A combined high definition display panel and Philips picture enhancement technology--Digital Crystal Clear, Active Control and Digital Natural Motion--ensures perfect natural movement of objects across the screen.
The plasma TV screens can also be programmed to your personal settings, with the help of the Philips E-Box, tells Sheriar. "You get high definition picture quality, and digital features, like double window, scan, zoom and freeze," he says. "Very few other brands give you this much options," he adds.
For that "cinematic experience" the 42-inch and 32-inch sets have a built-in 4-speaker stereo sound system with 30 watt RMS output for high power sound reproduction. The 50-inch model is without a standard built-in sound system so you can freely choose the sound system you prefer, such as a Philips DVD home theater, like the LX8000SA, for that "experience very close to a cinema experience so that you feel that you are living the movie," Noun says.
And when you are not entertaining, you can use your plasma TV sets to double as a PC monitor. A VGA connector transforms your screen into a larger-than-life monitor when you want to wow colleagues with multi-media PC presentations.
"Consumer patronization is growing. Two years ago the screens were at Dhs. 60,000," Noun compares. The range is also moving into the smaller flat screen models, with slim Light Crystal Display (LCD) monitors in 15-inch and 50-inch screens hitting mainstream.
"Philips makes sure that the picture you see is the closest to reality and the least constraining to your eyes so that your viewing experience is pleasurable," Noun tells, "We have always been the innovator in technology and our price is right. What more do you want to be convinced?"
