1840 Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is born on May 7 atVotkinsk.
                                    He is son of Ilya Petrovitch Tchaikovsky, an inspector of
                                    mines.

                                   1850 Develops his gift of composing and sent to School of Juris-
                                    prudence in St. Petersburg.

                                   1854 In June, his mother dies of cholera. Takes it hard.

                                   1859 As a clerk, he enters the Ministry of Justice.

                                   1863 Abandons his post at the Ministry of Justice so he could
                                    commit all of his time to music study

                                   1865 Nicholas Rubinstein captivates Tchaikovsky as a professor
                                    of composition in the newly founded Conservatory of Music
                                    in Moscow

                                   1869 Embarks Romeo and Juliet fantasy-overture, on a scheme
                                    encourages Balakirev.

                                   1874 Orchestrates Piano Concerto in B Flat Minor, intending to sanctify
                                    to Nicholas Rubinstein, but got a bad criticism so he dedicates the
                                    peice to Hans von Bulow(the guy that gave it's premiere)

                                   1876 Starts corresponding with Nadezhda Filaretovna von Meck.

                                   1877 Launches Symphony No. 4 in F Minor and dedicates to Mme. von Meck.
                                    Commences on the opera Eugene Oniegin. He marries but separates soon
                                    after from Anotonina Ivanovna Milyukov. Mme von. Meck arranges him
                                    with a yearly allowence of 6,000 roubles.

                                  1878 Cedes his professorship, and ends his symphony and opera. Travels
                                   to Clarens, Switzerland so he could work in quiet.

                                  1879 Eugenen Oniegin performed in Moscow (March 29)

                                  1882 Tchaikovsky dedicates his Trio to the memory of Nicholas Rubinstein,
                                   who died in 1881.

                                  1885 Moves to a country house near Klin and begins on Manfred, a scheme
                                   suggested by Balakirev.

                                   1887 The first time he makes an apperance as a concert conductor at
                                    St Petersburg, in a program of his own work.

                                  1888 Goes on an International tour as a conductor and got great revues.
                                   Finishes his Fifth Syphony in E Minor.

                                   1890 Breaks up with Nadezhda von Meck. Sister dies

                                  1891 Makes an American visit and conducts his own work at the ceremonies
                                   opening at Carnagie Hall on May 5 in New York.

                                  1893 Originates on the "Pathetic" Symphony(No.6)in January. Gets an honor-
                                   rary degree from Cambridge University. His Sixth Symphony performed
                                   without much luck on October 28. Finally, he develops cholera(or commites
                                   suicide and dies in St. Petersburg.
