| The Truth of Vampires It seemed surprising when a friend asked me this question. "Does Vampire really exist?" So i do a little research... it took a rather long time since i have to try to differentiate the real ones and those pretending ones. It is really a confusing matter. So here is a little result i've obtained. First, try this website : http://www.angelfire.com/tn/vampire Why should i do this? The answer is simply that i've been using some information from this website and that it does give a little history of the infamous Count Dracula. |
||||||||||||||
| Why is this the first step? | ||||||||||||||
| I've believed that this is the reason for the trends of vampirism. "Count Dracula" is no doubt a priceless classic and work of all times, its dangerous influence does bring forth to the present world we are living. It is based on themes of dark desires and those of the good, the desire for eternity at the price of other people, the fear of death... In a way, it did touch some of the most sensitive part of human nature, the fear of death. | ||||||||||||||
| Second, time chronicles | ||||||||||||||
| The next logical step to investigate the truth is to mark down and record all the 'happenings of vampires' after the publish of 'Count Dracula'. | ||||||||||||||
| Why...? | ||||||||||||||
| Just like in the olden days where witches were burnt on poles and bonfires. There must be something to initiate such thoughts. Forgive me in saying, the Westerners of the past were none the less the most ignorant and barbaric people. i have my reasons for saying so, of course. The excuse of identifying a witch is more likely a chance to get rid of someone you don't happen to like. | ||||||||||||||
| So for the case of vampires, it could be an excuse of an escaped murderer. Still, i can be wrong. | ||||||||||||||
| Medical Proof | ||||||||||||||
| Most claimed the growing of fangs and long dark nails proved the existence of vampires. It seemed logical but one more area of investigation is, does all dead bodies have this similar phenomenon? | ||||||||||||||
| The answer, still checking, is yes. It had been proven medically that our bones, teeth and nails continued to grow even after we are long gone. | ||||||||||||||
| What about the claim of fresh blood on the lips of such corpse? That i don't have an answer, but it might be a prank by some people to scare others. | ||||||||||||||
| (i've found a website on such proof... i'd find the exact webpage and also a permission to link to his website.) | ||||||||||||||
| Personally... | ||||||||||||||
| i know i've been very skeptical... but hear me out. There can be still some vampires around. But those are really born to it. We human stay human. There are many legends about blood-suckers, man-eaters and so on. Like in the Malay tales, there are many about Pontianak. Er... my neighbour used to frighten me with them. So you can try checking it out. | ||||||||||||||
| Lengends and Tales ... | ||||||||||||||
| There is another one about 'Ye Cha'. These are creatures which feasted on human fresh and blood. Luckily, there are good and bad ones... otherwise? The good ones were said to have supernatural powers to help people as for the bad, i don't think i need to say further. But these creatures i believed do exist, there is some mention in the Buddhist scriptures. So you can also check this out. Some of this 'Ye Cha' lived on isolated island or island that appears invisible to us (There are so many unknowns in our world, really, at least i believed this) so if you happened to land upon such island after an unlucky ship-wreck, the worst is yet to come for you... beware. | ||||||||||||||
| There are many tales and legends about such bloodsuckers... how much we can trust are another matter. Just don't get obsessed in them. They are really living a living hell. Just look at a mosquito, do you like it a lot? The more feasible for the candidate of vampire, i'd choose the mosquito any day. Fleas... bed-bugs... | ||||||||||||||
| Doing some memory search, i've recalled reading a Chinese story of how the mosquitoes come about... wanna hear? | ||||||||||||||
| It was said a girl named Mosquito (Yi Wen) had rescued a young man who was injured. To rescue this man, she had to give him ... er... three bowls of her blood. (i've forgotten her tribe) But this is so. In exchange, he had to promise to marry her. However, this young man soon met another girl and wanted to marry her. So in anger, Yi Wen cursed him that she would get her blood back drop by drop... she committed suicide and changed into thousands of flying insects. This became a cloud surrounding the young man till the last drop of his blood was sucked dried. This is the beginning of mosquitoes. Wonder if she is a 'vampire'? Mosquitoes are also vampires too. | ||||||||||||||
| Advice ... | ||||||||||||||
| After writing so much... Just one little but never the less important that don't be obsessed by vampires or vampiric behaviors. i've learnt only a little psychology ...but i'll explain more on such behaviors in the last chapter. | ||||||||||||||
