Tibits of the Week!
Auras (Part II)
Back to Homepage
Let's continue on this aura thing.

I've watched a documentary on Discover recently. It was on auras. It was said that some sort of film was used to photograph auras. A device was even invented to read such auras.
I forgot the name of this study but it was said to be a very new study.

Some scientists and doctors were performing some tests on dead bodies. The result was that auras are found even in dead bodies and they last around 13 to 60 plus days. They have also found some interesting facts...
Read on.

On one dead body that they perform some tests on... this person was said to dead from liver cancer. The readings of this person's aura were said to be very trumatic. So they perform a test on it by cutting out this liver. After the operation, they found that a calmer aura was taken.
What can this means?

Another interesting fact that they had discovered is that a more trumatic aura was taken if the person had died from sucide and that such auras lasted much longer than those who had died peacefully... What can this mean again?

As we had discuss earlier on, auras represent something like our soul or an indicator that "we" are still there in our bodies...
Does this means that we are not gone after we are dead and that we may still be in our bodies?

Here is some view from the Buddhism... (Not 100% true.)
When we are dead, our souls will come out of our bodies as spirits. But when this spirit will leave our bodies depend on how much longing we have for the world we had left. Sometimes when we are killed in accidents, our spirits were so shocked by this impact and suddenness that it took a long time to get over it and to realise that we are no longer among the living. Once over the period of 49 days, this spirit will remain as what is call or known as ghost.
Ths same goes for those who had commited sucide. THIS IS NOT FUNNY! The process which those people undergo was more trumatic than we can ever know of. It was really painful as we are forcing ourselves to end our life. Most often, such people had something they cannot get over with so this means that they have actually a greated longing among this world. Tell you what, i do think they do regret their decision to kill themselves.
Imagine when you are falling from the 99th storey. If someone managed to catch you say around the 80th storey, you'd never want to think about killing yourself again. It was a real horror no matter how you want to die!
So do treasure your life and don't ever think about such things!

Remember the dead person who died of liver cancer? The pain that caused our death may remain in our mind, not body, till we are able to let it go. Know this, none of the dead body react to anything we do but can they feel it? Can they hear us? Can they know us?
This person showed us that although we may think they don't feel anything physically nor able to react to us physically, they can still feel, see and hear it! So please don't disturb the dead person. You may annoy them even if you don't realise it!

In a way, Buddhism explains alot of "strange" phenomenon which the scientists are still trying to prove. So just read this for fun and don't be so serious as to follow the foot-steps of those scientists who are trying to 'discover' things like auras. Eight hundreds ago, Buddha had already taught his disciples these. So these scientists are merely proving and not discovering these facts.
I'm not saying that their efforts and enthusiasim are foolish or useless, just that probably such a study might come out to be more of a proving than a discovering nature.
