What can we do?
- Express our support to the tenants association.
- Ask our state legislators to take an interest in the issue and work for passage of bills addressing the “expiring use”" issue such as:
- S782 (formerly S916) sponsored by Senator Tucker of Andover which gives municipalities or designated non-profits the right to purchase these buildings at fair market value.
- and H3950, the “home rule petition” filed by Senator Petrucelli of East Boston, a petition passed unanimously by the Boston City Council which gives the City of Boston the right to regulate these developments.

- Work together with other organizations working for affordable housing such as:
- Massachusetts Senior Action Council
- Boston Tenant Coalition
- Coalition to Save Affordable Housing
- Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations
- talk to all our neighbors about the issue and express our concern.
