An unusual hybrid of Demon and Orc, Strygwyr is an outcast amongst all mortal creatures. By thriving on and bathing himself with the blood of those he slays, Strygwyr can heal his wounds - even those that could prove fatal. Beware the fool who dares venturing alone, for Strygwyr can sense his blood miles away and gain vision through his helpless prey's eyes. Having ruptured the enemy with mighty blows in his bloodthirsty frenzies, Strygwyr corners his foe into making the impossible decision - bleed to death by trying to outrun the hasty demon, or be ripped to shreds in its awesome fury.

One of the few heroes who can effectively chase down any hero. Strygwyr is also considered to be a very good ganker thanks to his Blood Thirst and Rupture.

Base stats:
Base Damage: 53 - 59
Base Armor: 5.4
Primary Attribute: Agility
Strength: 18 + 2
Agility: 24 + 2.6
Intelligence: 18 + 1.7
Movespeed: 305

He has slightly above movement speed which is good, a rather decent strength and agility gain which definatly helps and his intelligence gain isn't all that great but still, you only cast 2 spells and they don't take THAT much mana so it doesn't affect us.

Skills

Bloodrage

BTNSpellSteal.gif

Drives a unit into a bloodthirsty rage. That unit is unable to cast spells, has it's attack damage increased, and loses a small amount of hitpoints every second.

Level 1: Lasts 6 seconds, 20% damage increase, loses 20 HP per second.
Level 2: Lasts 9 seconds, 40% damage increase, loses 15 HP per second.
Level 3: Lasts 12 seconds, 60% damage increase, loses 10 HP per second.
Level 4: Lasts 15 seconds, 80% damage increase, loses 5 HP per second.

80 mana cost and 20 second cooldown at all levels.

Several things about this skill, first it damages the unit, secondly it increases the units damage, thirdly it silences the unit making it unable to cast spells. Now whether this is a good or bad thing is up to you, early game at level 1 it can be used to do 120 damage over 6 seconds to an enemy hero, at level 4 it can be used as MASSIVE damage increase to you or an allied hero. The uses for this skill vary depending on your situation or (sometimes) mood of what course of action to take.

Important notes:

It does higher damage at level 1 and lower at level 4, remember that when considering whether to cast it on allied or enemy units/heroes. It silences the unit, meaning if you cast it on yourself you won't be able to cast any other spells. (Rupture)

Blood Bath

Whenever Strygwyr kills a unit, he bathes himself in blood, regenerating his life source.
Level 1: 10% of Heros max HP, 5% for creeps.
Level 2: 20% of Heros max HP, 10% for creeps.
Level 3: 30% of Heros max HP, 15% for creeps.
Level 4: 40% of Heros max HP, 20% for creeps.

Pretty amazing, actually, very amazing. A decent Strygwyr player won't even need tangos or salves if they can last hit like a pro, because in doing so, you heal. Some will say this is better then normal life steal and some will say it's worst. The best thing about this skill is it's a sign of no mercy, it means you won't stop till they're dead so you can recover your HP, you won't back down till they fall at your feet and when they do, you're home free to run away.

Important notes:

Strygwyr's Thirst

Enables Strugwyr to sense the bleeding of an enermy hero below 40% HP, if it finds one, Strygwyr gains vision of that unit and increases movement speed.

Level 1: Area of effect: 1500, 11% movement speed.
Level 2: Area of effect: 3000, 22% movement speed.
Level 3: Area of effect: 4500, 33% movement speed.
Level 4: Area of effect: 6000, 44% movement speed.

Oh my favorite skill! This is what makes people fear you. This will send people running. (Literally!) I can't even begin to stress how deadly this skill is, at level 4 you control half the map with your insane movement speed and ability to see heros under 40% HP, if you see someone running away, chase that chicken. You gain FULL sight of them, that means they can't wind walk away, they have nothing to save them. Except of course, everyone's worst enemies; towers and disablers.

Important notes:

Rupture [ULTIMATE]

Deals a mighty blow to the enemy causing any moment to result in bleeding and loss of life.
Level 1: Lasts 5 seconds, 150 mana cost, 150 damage, 20% of distance moved in damage.
Level 2: Lasts 7 seconds, 200 mana cost, 250 damage, 40% of distance moved in damage.
Level 3: Lasts 9 seconds, 250 mana cost, 350 damage, 60% of distance moved in damage.

Oh lawd, my other favorite skill. You know that situation "OMFG WHAT DO I DO?!" that's what people will be like if you use this skill on them, firstly in inflicts damage, secondly, the more they run, the quicker they die, thirdly if your opponent is sensible he'll stand still, giving you an open opportunity to run up and kill him for the gold AND EXP. (Since if he runs away off the screen you won't get the EXP:() This works great for team battles, if you see someone is badly hurt and is about to leg it away from the battle, cast this then go assist your team! They'll die in seconds due to the sheer awesomeness of this bad boy.

Skill build

General early game farming:

Level 1: Blood Bath
Level 2: Strygwyr's Thirst
Level 3: Blood Bath
Level 4: Strygwyr's Thirst
Level 5: Strygwyr's Thirst
Level 6: Rupture
Level 7: Strygwyr's Thirst
Level 8: Blood Bath
Level 9: Blood Bath
Level 10: Bloodrage
Level 11: Rupture
Level 12: Bloodrage
Level 13: Bloodrage
Level 14: Bloodrage
Level 15: Stats
Level 16: Rupture
Level 17-25: Stats

Early game harrasser/killer (I still don't recommend very early killing):

Level 1: Bloodrage
Level 2: Blood Bath
Level 3: Strygwyr's Thirst
Level 4: Bloodrage/Strygwyr's Thirst
Level 5: Strygwyr's Thirst/Bloodrage
Level 6: Rupture
Level 7: Bloodrage/Strygwyr's Thirst
Level 8: Strygwyr's Thirst/Bloodrage
Level 9: Bloodrage/Strygwyr's Thirst
Level 10: Strygwyr's Thirst/Bloodrage
Level 11: Rupture
Level 12: Blood Bath
Level 13: Blood Bath
Level 14: Blood Bath
Level 15: Stats
Level 16: Rupture
Level 17-25: Stats

Reason for this: Bloodrage at level 1 for harrassing, but make sure you don't get too close to the opponent and get hurt... It's your choice whether to get Bloodrage early or Strygwyr's Thirst maxed first, if you need damage go for Bloodrage, if you need movement speed then go for Strygwyr's Thirst, simple. One level of Blood Bath because healing helps... Especially if you're chasing past towers and such. Still, I don't recommend this build.

Item Build

Start off with:

Circlet of Nobility
185 GOLD x 2.

Tango of Essifation
90 GOLD x 2 (2 charges).

Total cost: 480 GOLD.

Reason:

The circlets give you a nice stat increase to help you out at the start and later will be made into bracers or wraith bands. Tangos are for healing (I'm assuming you'll want to start off with backup healing to be safe rather then sorry)

Go to your lane and farm, when you go back to the fountain get this:
If laning is going well with no troubles and damage can take priority over HP.

Slippers of Agility
150 GOLD x 2.
Wraith Band RECIPE
125 GOLD x 2.
Total cost: 450 GOLD.

Reason:
Just stat boosts really, you get damage, armour, IAS, HP, mana ect ect.

***OR***

If laning is going bad with troubles and you need HP rather than damage.

Gauntlet of Strength
150 GOLD x 2.
Bracer RECIPE
175 GOLD x 2.
Total cost: 500 GOLD.

Reason:
HP boost mainly, but also the other stats.

Again, go farm killing heros when/if you can, just stay alive and farm, don't worry about early game domination, it's not priority.

When you go back to the fountain get this:
Boots of Speed
500 GOLD.

Reason:

In fact if hero killing and farming is going well, you can get these before bracers/wraith bands, they are very handy for obvious reasons. (Not to mention some heros will get away even if you have thirst activated and you don't have boots).

Again, resume the routine, you still don't have a reliable damage source so, rupture for the kill if you like, but I still don't recommend going for hero kills yet.

When you go back to the fountain get this:
Gloves of Haste
550 GOLD.
Boots of Elvenskin
450 GOLD.
Power Treads RECIPE
350 GOLD
Total cost: 1350 GOLD

Reason:
Obviously for the attack and movement speed aswell as a nice agility/strength boost.

This routine may of got a bit boring by now, but trust me, IT WAS SO WORTH IT.

When you go back to the fountain get this:
Mithril Hammer
1610 GOLD x 2.
Total cost: 3220 GOLD.

Reason:

Hehe don't you love it when a plan comes together? The next recipe buy should be predictable. Basically, we got a nice damage source here, so you can maybe go for a few hero kills but don't overdo it, it's STILL not a priority. If you see someone that needs killing and you can deliver it, DO IT, but don't forget your priority is farming and staying alive.

When you go back to the fountain get this:

Stygian Desolator
1200 GOLD.

Reason:

Hehehe... Now... With a juicy armour reduction, huge damage boost and a REALLY awesome orb on your claw, now is your time to start shining, with this item now you can start your domination, but remember, DON'T OVER DO IT.

Later Luxury Items

Valdmirs Offering

Lifesteal, lifesteal, and more lifesteal, with a juicy bonus damage/armour/brilliance aura.

Buzira

Obviously because it summons mudkipz. No, seriously do I even need to give you a reason?

Monkey King Bar

Annoying spell channlers such as Rylai could do with a few whacks from this, also it helps to stop those smart people who teleport away from you rather than run or stand still.

Black King Bar

Simply because of the magic immunity, the added HP is a bonus.

Battlefury

You never know, if you really have too much gold left over the cleave would help with pushing and maybe team fights with Bloodrage.

General Gameplay

Early game

As you should of seen in the items section, farming is crucial, if you don't farm you'll be at a major disadvantage, I'd HIGHLY recommend last hitting creeps, since at early stages you can't like 2 hit creeps, last hitting is the way to go. Harrass early when/if you can, don't be afraid to chase heroes, except into towers or other teammates, unless of course they are like 1 hit off dying and you are extremely fast (boots of speed & Strygwyr's Thirst). Farm your treads and wraith bands/bracers and start working on Desolator, get this AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE, the sooner you get it, the more kills and easier time farming you'll get.

Mid game

By now you should have your core items, from here I'd recommend working up to a Buzira or MKB ect. more damage the better! Strygwyr isn't a tank, he's a chaser, so things like HoT (especially at this stage) could be extremely stupid... Although, it could work for you! At this stage of the game you should be killing and farming still, assist in ganks whenever possible and chase down fleeing heroes, but there's just one thing A LOT of people have to learn... LEARN WHEN TO GIVE UP. If you see someone 1 hit off death surrounded by their team, LEAVE THEM, no matter what anybody tells you, a kill is not worth dying yourself... Except stuff like Techies and double/triple kills, even after a double or triple kill I still wouldn't want to die.

Push towers could be an option now, just remember to help your team and chase and kill whenever possible, you're an unstoppable fiend with Rupture and Bloodrage, the simple combo is run up to them and cast Rupture, then Bloodrage, if they're scared they'll run and quickly put you into Strygwyr's Thirst so you can chase them and kill them ANYWAY. If they don't run and stand and fight, at least Rupture did some slight nuke damage and they're open for you to claw the hell outta them, once again letting you go into Strygwyr's Thirst and chase them if need be. The procedure for killing is pretty simple. REMEMBER; if you're ganking with your team, don't be afraid to cast Bloodrage on them if they want/need it, it's damage boost is insane at high levels.

Late game

This part is a bit iffy, from here you'd best rely on team work, Strygwyr's is indeed an AGI hero with insane skills, so what better way to put that to use then working with your team? Push lanes and assist your team mates. If you see one of your team pushing a lane solo, go help him, stick by your team mates and do the exact opposite of Geomancer's ultimate, DIVIDED WE STAND. Yeah, early game. UNITED WE STAND. Yep, it's all about teamwork, seriously. Of course, feel free to solo when you see fit, it's all about what you want to do and what's best for the team, so if you see an open hero, just own him, don't bother calling your team if they're pushing a lane or something, if you know you can kill him... DO IT. DO IT NOW.
