| Fishboy, known as Eric Michener by day, has assembled a ragtag group of performers, known as The Talent Show to play his songs with. Based in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, The Talent Show combines the talent of musicians and performers to create a sound and feel comparable to They Might Be Giants, Violent Femmes, and Beck. The music, in actuality, is a blend of straightforward pop rock, folk rock, and acoustic ballads stretched across multiple instruments, while the lyrics contain deep-seated symbolism covered by clever puns and references to the 80's. The Talent Show is part of a network of bands including Oh-Jay and the Brantis Orangutangs and Project Chaimberlin. The first official cd entitled, "Tim Flies 'Cause He's Having Fun" was released in the summer of 2000, and features such classics as April O'Neil, So Long Howard Huang, Three Months on Your Head, Teddy Ruxpin, and Robots. A new cd, thus far untitled, will be released in the summer of 2002, expected to feature live hits like Ray the Mover and Brushing My Teeth in the Bathtub. |
