| Yogyakarta...or usually called Jogja, is my beloved home town. This is where I was born n grow up. It's a nice calm city, far from chaos n disaster. That's why this is the best place to study, every year thousands of people from all over Indonesia come to Jogja to study. This is also a nice get away place. Vacation here is more cultural, like watching some dances, visiting 'Keraton' the king's palace, visiting monuments (Prambanan, Borobudur, etc), n so on. Wait a sec... we also have beaches!! And they are also beautiful, but unfortunately can't be surfed cus there's a lot of corals n rocks, so sad...if they could, I would have been a pro surfer. Jogja is ruled by a King, recently named Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X. N' of course you can say that Jogja is a kingdom. In Jogja there is one of the highest mountains in Indonesia, which is Merapi, n it's an active volcano. A major eruption has been occured in this volcano, causing a major damage, but not in Jogja (like I said its far from disaster). Jogja is also a good place to shop besides Bali, but the difference is Jogja offers a ZUPER CHEAP things. Well... maybe Jogja is not the place to shop clothing but Jogja is famous of its handicrafts. Mostly handicrafts that are sold in Bali are made in Jogja. But the craftsmen rarely open a gallery in Jogja itself, they'd prefer to sell it in Bali. That's why maybe you won't be too easy to find handicrafts. But if you really want to find it you should go to some art exhibitions that always held annually in Jogja (ex: FKY, Sekaten). And if you wanna be a trader, don't look for it in Bali but in Jogja. Ah yea, if you want to rent a nice cheap room you can check 'My Hotel'. Alright then, have fun in my home town.
