Subject: PTQ IL report - The Crew wins again Date: 07 Sep 1997 00:00:00 GMT I'm going to try to keep this brief since I didn't take any notes on who I played at all. The actual description of play on tournament reports is boring anyways. I won the Chicago ptq with an overall record of 8-0-2. I was the only unqualifed member of my team going into this, so I was really glad to get it out of the way. The deck is designed by Max Szlagor, Ron Serio, myself, and Francis Keys. I have to give props to Brian Schneider, the deck looks more like his version everytime we re-work it. Here's the decklist (that's all people read reports for anyways, I'm just skipping the BS) Crew Blue 4 Waterspout Djinn 4 Ophidian 4 Voldalian Illusionist (it took Adrian Sullivan working me with these in Madison, Wi before I realised they were good) 4 Man-o-War 4 Impulse 2 Serrated Biskelion (here's what sets this apart from the norm blue deck) 4 Dissipate 4 Memory Lapse 4 Power Sink 2 Desertion (Olle Rade tried to convince us this was too many counters...no way) 19 Islands 3 Quicksands 2 Winding Canyons (ala Ron Serio) Sideboard (by far the most usefull version of this decks sb ever) 4 Boomerangs 4 Tidal Wave (against celerity (read: Gangsta) creatures) 2 Disrupt 2 Inspiration 2 Serrated Biskilion 1 Ray of Command This deck beats everything...there's not much else to say. Good luck to those working hard to make the tour...I know there isn't much time left, but I hope this helps. Sam Heckman Team Member - The Crew Northern Regional Co-Champion
