Where in the World is Max Szlagor?!?!?!?
Help me find this guy
Mystery by Sam Heckman
Untill May 27th things were going pretty good for The Crew. We had been doing well in a few local tournaments, making new decks and enjoying the Chicago early summer weather. Just when things were looking good....Max Szlagor disappears!!! What i need now is your help in finding him. Other people on The Crew have given me clues as to his whereabouts, but I don't know for sure. Help me out Mr. Chumly, you're my only hope!!
Just the Facts:
The chaos started on Thursday night (5/28/98) when I got a message on ICQ from Ron Serio:
i think we're gonna go to Denny's
you should come
Max is leaving tomorrow
When I didn't respond to this message I got a phone call that went something like this:
(Sam) Hello
(Ron) You need to go to Dennys, it's Max's last request before he leaves
(Sam) He leaves tomorrow!?!?! Where is he going???
(Ron) I can't tell you but did say the women in Szczecin love bald guys
(Sam) Really, excellent. Where the Hell is Szczecin?
(Ron) Dude, just shut up and get your go on. We need to get some Dennys
(Sam) I can't, my girlfiend is over and I'm occupied
(Ron) Fine, bitch. -click-
At the end of the night I began to ponder where Max could be, getting to sleep wasn't easy. The next night on IRC Melissa Lang sent me a message.
(MelissaL) You ready for Gp Indy?
(Heckman) I would be, except I lost Max
(MelissaL) Really? He just sent Francis an E-Mail the other day saying he'll be back for the GP
(Heckman) At least he's alive, do you know where he is?
(MelissaL) In his E-mail he babbled about the chief exports there being intermediate goods 27.5%, machinery and transport equipment 19.8%, miscellaneous manufactures 20.5%, foodstuffs 11.6%, fuels 9.1%,
(Heckman) uh, ok. That's a lousy clue =(
Where is he?
Not being left with much I was satisfied with the fact that at least he would be back for the GP and Nationals. I went for a walk to the grocery store and grabbed a Vanilla Frappuccino from the cooler. While I was waiting in line I perused the tabloids. and on the cover of the Weekly World News I saw "Sea Monster found in Baltic Sea by American Tourist!" No biggie, but then I look at the picture and it's Max Szlagor!!!!! The curiosity begins to drive me crazy again. Where is that guy, how do I find him? HELP ME!!! I go home to look up the Baltic Sea in hopes of narrowing things down, and there's a headline on Lycos News: "American Szlagor Gets Medal From President Aleksander Kwasniewski for Finding Sea Monster off the Shore of Ustka." Now I'm stunned, it seems that info is everywhere but nothing mentions the country at all. You'd think with all these clues I'd figure it out, but it's not so easy. Anyways if you have seen Max, heard from Max, or can figure out where he is based on these clues E-Mail me at - [email protected]
