We are P.U.S.O. -- the Philippine United Service Organization
Before shipping the filled Balikbayan box, the executive director and the chairs from each branch in the States collaborate with the head coordinators of the communities in the Philippines and choose a recipient depending on its priority. Once a recipient is determined, the box will be shipped. Finally, after the coordinators in the Philippines receive the box, the community will distribute the goods according to the needs of the students.

Our mission is to provide aid such as books, school supplies, and technology to the students of the Philippines from donations offered by Youth Group / community members. Through student-conducted donation events, PUSO gives the students in America & overseas the opportunity to help foster the development of the future leaders of the world.
A better & more prosperous environment in which both the Filipino & American community work together to provide a brighter future for Philippine
students & families.
P.U.S.O. is a 100% non-profit organization. P.U.S.O. will have a number of community branches (youth groups, schools, etc) established within the NJ-NY-PA area that will participate in the organization. An executive director oversees the operations of P.U.S.O. A chair represents each community branch, along with a vice chair, a treasurer, a secretary, a historian, and a number of committees (such as finance, fundraising, human resources, nominating, shipping, etc.) Each community branch/subdivision leader receives one Balikbayan box (or more). Once a community is issued a box, community members have the opportunity to donate money, books, school supplies, computers, etc. to schools and students in the Philippines. The fundraiser committee will organize fundraiser/donation events around their areas, such as food sales, sports competitions, car washes, etc. to raise money for expenses.
