| Approximately 5 months before this movie was released, a sneak preview was shown in the cinemas with a scary haunted house and the premise that how only one person could save the world. The camera then revealed Scooby Doo saying "who me". This made the film look like it was gonna be a little creepy and also have a few laughs - just like the cartoon. Unfortunately the producers must have spent all the money on this trailer, because what they ended up producing is a "dog" of a file - Scooby "Poo" (excuse the puns). I really went into this movie with low expectations and ended up coming out disappointed. (This leads me to thinking about which is worse - going into a movie with high expectations and coming out disappointed or going to see a movie that you think is going to be shite and it ends up being toatally worse than shite hmmmm) This is a kiddies film that struggles to go even for 90 minutes. The thing is though .. what kids watch scooby doo nowadays? The answer noone, there too busy watching Pokemon or the Wiggles etc. The majority of Scooby Doo fans are in there 20s, 30s so why make a kids version. I could rave on about how the characters could have been developed better etc but you get my drift. The one good thing is Shaggy - he was brilliant. Scott's Rating 3/10 |
