This John Hughes flick takes place on a Saturday where five high school students are sitting out their detention.
Each student has their own distinctive characteristics. The Geek (Anthony Michael Hall), The Prom Queen (Molly Ringwald), The Athlete (Emilio Estevez), The Basket Case (Ally Sheedy), and The Criminal (Judd Nelson).
Given the task of writing an essay on who they think they are, these students come together to see they have much more in common than they realise. In eight hours they change from five different people into The Breakfast Club.
This coming of age story has stereotypical characters and cliched dialogue but you just have to love it. The soundtrack, great acting and funny one-liners make for very enjoyable viewing.
