Sandalwood 6 - Fletcher 3

The Sandalwood Saints (11-8) beat the Fletcher Senators (10-9) for the second time this season, this time putting Fletcher out of the Gateway Conference tournament.  Fletcher junior Jason Sowers made his second start since coming back from his broken ankle, but he seemed a little more rusty than he did in his first start.  Sowers gave up three runs, two of them earned, in just four innings of work.  The game was tied at three when Jason Hiers took the hill.  Heirs (2-4) gave up three runs in his one inning, giving Sandalwood a lead that they would not lose.  The Senators offense was lead by Griffin 'Montra' Brown, who drove in all three runs and hit the ball hard all night.  Ryan Schmitz and David Eldredge also helped with some great plays on defense.  Fletcher will have the rest of the week off and will take on Lee, Mandarin, and Ribault next week in preparation to the district tournament.
