Greetings. Please, start this interview with the enumeration of the most important biographical facts of FAERGHAIL�s existence such as the current and the previous line-ups, your releases, labels you�ve worked with and alike info.
Formed summer `95.

Your newest mini album "Blood will Follow Blood" released through Northern Sound recs, sounds like a very thoughout and experienced work. The same goes for the lyrics. It would be more natural to call them poems. Please, reveal the concept behind this release.
Well then it probably sounds more "thought out" than it actually is, because we made the songs quite fast after recording Where angels dwell no more,and even made some changes in the studio..Lyrics were also done only a little before entering the studio..The sounds and production have a lot to do with Astia-studio and the professional work done by Jussi Jauhiainen and Anssi Kippo!
This question can be called consequent to the precedent one: how has been your collaboration with NSR? I personally think that it�s a very decent label, especially when taking into consideration its young age. By the way, what�s the number of copies printed for "Blood�"?
Everything has gone smoothly with NSR..Labels "Owner" Mikko Oksanen showed interest in releasing BWFB-mcd and that was that..Mikko is a nice guy and we are happy for the release and how things are done.. The first pressing was 1000 copies,I think..don`t know after that.. 300 vinyls also coming up..
Unfortunately, I�ve never heard any of FAERGHAIL�s efforts released previous to "Blood�" MCD. I wonder if you could describe the creative development of the band since the first demo?
Well..Personally I think The development from our first cd "Horizon`s fall" to "Blood will.."mcd has been huge! I can`t even listen to "HF"cd anymore.WADNM is a big step forward from Horizon`s fall, but I think that BWFB is the first release which shows the bands true potential!!!
Truthfully, your music deeply impressed me with its originality and outstanding features. I�m even confused in categorizing the genre it�s performed in. I wonder how the band itself evaluates its style?
Hmm..I try to avoid categorization,because as you said,It`s quite hard to describe Faerghail`s music in terms of death,black,etc whatever metal..I`d just say it`s dark melodic metal and inspire everyone to listen for themselves and make they`re own judgement!
Finland, your motherland, has got an abundant underground metal scene. I assume you have numerous supporters among the Finnish underground members (bands, zines, radios). Could you cite them?
Not really..I guess we are still quite unknown band,but I hope Blood will..-mcd will better the situation..atleast we have got really positive feedback on it.
FAERGHAIL is a trio at the moment. Are you going to involve more individuals in your musical activity in order to enrich the sound? By the way, are there any side-projects that the band-members adhere to?
We are not a trio anymore,because Pekka Koponen is now a fulltime member (Session drums on BWFB). Other projects (more or less active) include Leviatan (Pekka and Jussi),Forever Winter (Petri) and Vordven (Tuomas)..and some other projects which are not yet worth mentioning..
As far as I�m informed Shiver recs (it must have been renamed already) were supposed to release your newest full-length CD in the beginning of 2001. However, there seem to be some delays with the date of release. Please, give us the details. When can we expect it?
The new album should be out any day now..yes,Shiver recs is nowadays LSP-company..There have been some delays,but now everything should be worked out.
Have you ever toured Europe? How often are your live appearances?
No. We haven`t performed live in four years..hopefully we can also do some live gigs in the future!
What are the relations between the band-members? Are you friends or just colleagues, working for the common goal?
We have all known each other for a long time, we knew each other before Faerghail so...
What are your plans for 2001?
Writing new songs and rehearsing..maybe playing some live gigs?..and probably recording a new album somewhere near the end of year 2001/start of 2002..we`ll see..
