I first want to thank each and
every one of you for teaming up with Tami to make my 40th birthday a
HUGE surprise. I had absolutely no idea
until I came around the corner in the shop and saw a bus parked there and
everyone yelled, “SURPRISE!!” I know it
took a lot of planning on Tami’s part and a lot of help from all of you not to
spill the beans.
Special thanks go to Tami for
putting it all together, Steve Reimers, Dave Welsh, my Mom and Sister for all they
did to help Tami and to Doug Peterson and Jeff Fruhling for setting things up
at the shop.
I really thought that I had her
talked out of doing something big. I
had even busted my tail around here getting things ready for the big shebang
that she let me plan knowing full well there was no way it was going to
happen. I even spent an hour and a half
Friday night cleaning the garage out so we would have a place to cook the
“nuts” so there wouldn’t be oil splattered all over the kitchen.
This was taken after I got home on Saturday night so I had
proof that at least for a while the garage was clean!!
(Note the tables I hauled home (thanks Al) from the shop and
the multiple cases of liquid refreshments ready for the big event)
What follows are some of the
pictures that I took with a comment thrown in here and there.
Two of the L&S culprits Duane Chromy and Doug Peterson
Heather and Bernie Hascall, Steve Reimers and Kenny Luther
Les Smith, Duane and Doug, Jeff and Mary Fruhling
Kim Nelson, Jenny Madsen and Tami. I’m told that Heather, Kim and Jenny had to put up with a lot
during the planning of this shindig.
Tami on the phone talking to Dave Welsh who she said was one
of her biggest helps in getting this put together. Dave wasn’t able to go along as his wife is expecting any day.
Lynelle and Denny Miller, Tom and Gina McCann, Mel Pebley
and Bobby Turner
A close up of Bobby
Nadine Moore (a former neighbor of ours who I was thrilled
to see!) my mom my Grandma (88 years old and still in the middle of the party)
and Lynelle Miller.
A closer shot of Nadine
Betty and Royce Dilsaver (old neighbor of ours), Dave an
Toni Slattery and Rob and Lisa Martenson
Rob and Lisa, Nancy and Al Keup (the big winners of the day)
and Donna and Lonnie Mayo
Donna and Lonnie, Denny Day and Claudia Murr (a pet therapy
volunteer for Tami).
The cake that Tami had made for Shaun (she didn’t ask me how
to spell it!!), Duane and I.
On the way home, several of the participants decided that
they needed to catch up on a little shut-eye.
Tom McCann (you wouldn’t know this picture from one taken on
a wrestling trip if it weren’t for the lack of a coach’s shirt!!
Mary Fruhling cuddled up to her big fluffy “pillow”
And Nancy Keup after her and Al cleaned out the casino I
guess she deserved some sleep!!
Finally one of my favorites of the day. You might want to copy this one to use later
for other purposes. You won’t see this
one very often, I guarantee that.
Thanks for the great picture Kenny
Once again thank you all for
making the day a great one. It was fun
to get together with everyone and to hear about the ones that wanted to come
but were unable to make it for one reason or another.
Just a friendly reminder to
those of you who are still young pups…..
What goes around comes around!!!
Thanks
Mike
Ps
I’m working on getting the movies
posted here so they won’t take so long to send and receive.
