ARE THE SIGN GIFTS FROM GOD TODAY?
Many claim to possess the spiritual sign gifts found in 1 Corinthians 12 through 14 today. Yet, this is not a new phenomena, for in Church History there have been many such movements. If you look at the dismal results of such movements (along with the heartache and pain they have caused in the body of Christ), not to mention the shame they have brought to its Head, the Lord Jesus Christ, you could, and should cry to God for His Body�s deliverance.
Although, this is not the only evidence (that this so-called Charismatic Movement is not from God), for in the Scriptures, and by the very Apostle who writes of these sign gifts, he states, by the inspiration of God, that these sign gifts would CEASE! (1 Corinthians 13:8-12). Why even in his own life-time they had CEASED! Read Philippians 2:27; 1 Timothy 6:23; 2 Timothy 4:20; and who can deny the truth of Romans 8:22, 23?
Furthermore, have you ever wondered why the sign gifts were given? What was their God given purpose? Read 1 Corinthians 1:22, and then read Exodus 4:1-8, and Deuteronomy 26:8. Now look at 1 Corinthians 14:21-22, and compare that to Isaiah 28:11, 12, and you will begin to see that the miraculous sign gifts were given to be a witness to a sign nation (Israel), which was born and taught to look for signs.
This is why there are no sign gifts being performed today by God, for our Apostle, Paul, The Apostle of the Gentiles declares in Romans 11:11, 15, 28, that the sign nation (Israel), has been set aside for a season: ��For god hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.� (Romans 11:32). Therefore, there are NO SIGN GIFTS operating in the True Church today. Oh! How Satan, and his �ministers of righteousness� have deceived, and blinded the minds of many today! (2 Corinthians 4:3, 4.
Dear child of God, if you have been deceived by these satanic heresies, may you look to the Scriptures, and stand on the AUTHORITY OF HIS WORD. For we walk by faith, not by sight (feelings, personal experiences).
Friend, if you are one who thinks you are saved because you have had a personal experience that can�t be explained, such as speaking in tongues, etc., think again. For none are saved by trusting in an experience in themselves, but only by trusting, relying on, without reservation in THE ONE WHO DIED FOR OUR SINS, WAS BURIED, AND RAISED AGAIN THE THIRD DAY, ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
That my friend is not something we feel! That is something we believe to be saved! �Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved!� (Acts 16:31).
