Alone
I am running along a forgotten road

Alone

For four years I ran
Then suddenly HE is there
I stay ahead with him behind
He wants to catch up
He runs faster
I find that I am having trouble
Staying ahead of him
Suddenly, he passes
I see him go, running
Into the     w     i     n     d

Oh, I wish I could catch up
To him as he runs
Sometimes he'll stop
Let me almost reach him,
Then run on faster, faster
As he laughs and giggles
I am left behind

Alone

He doesn't wait for me any more
He leaves me in the dust
I keep running
Going sl o  w   e    r and
s     l      o       w        e         r
Discouraged

For four years I ran

Alone

Then
HE was there
He passes, teases, laughs
He leaves me in the dust

Alone
Sad, discouraged, left behind
I wish I could run
Faster than the wind, and not be left
Alone
