"It was well into night as the plane approached New York City on its way to JFK Airport.
I had a window seat on the right side of the plane. As we crossed New York Harbor I could
see the Verrazano Bridge with her lights aglow. The flight's path took us up the center of Manhattan. As I looked out, I could see the Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges below us lit up like models on a train set. I also saw the whole of Brooklyn with her myriad patterns of street lights and signs. The lights shone like precious gems on a jeweler's black velvet display. I could feel the stirring of emotion welling up inside of me telling me I was coming home"
