'When To Hold Back'

[Flash_Guardian ] A loud and repetitive pounding sound can be heard throughout the tiny island, a sound that has been heard intermittently ever since yesterday morning. Someone continues to be hard at work in the clearing at the island's center, it seems. As it stands currently, the tide is low, revealing the long and narrow land bridge joining Redfang to the mainland.

Kalabar flies into sight above the clearing and starts to cirlce, watching the movement.

Jin-Saotome parks his Blodia in the large, empty construction site where all the cleared trees were. He opens the chest hatch and spies the bridge on the other end of the Island yelling, "What?!! You mean I didn't have to trudge the Blodia through saltwater for an hour to get here?! There's a frigging bridge now?!" Jin hops out and starts ordering the workman nearby to grab some garden hoses and help was the salt off the Blodia's heatsinks before they corrode, storming off in the direction of the dojo. Where the hell is Flash...

Flash_Guardian is currently kneeling beside another conglomerate of boards, occasionally glancing to an open book that lays on the ground beside him, comparing notes. He has several nails sticking out of his mouth and a hammer in his hand. He fingers over the page of the book yet again, then looks back to the framework that will eventually be another wall of the dojo - this particular one being for the east wing. He nods in approval, removing a nail from his mouth, holding it to the wood. The sound of pounding returns now as he hammers another nail into the wood.

[Flash_Guardian ] And other than Flash, there's no one else here. It's a one man crew, at the moment.

Kalabar continues to circle above watching the new comer and the man hammering.

Jin-Saotome 's yelling at thin-air apparently, and goes off in search of Flash. He hears that pounding sound and strolls up to the unfinished section of wall and peers around it. "Ah-HAH!" Jin yells, pointing at Flash! "What's the deal with the bridge? When did you put that up? I took and hour of navigating underwater to get here!"

Jin-Saotome tries to stay in Kalabar's shadow to keep the sun off him, but finds that it's moving around. Bah.

Flash_Guardian is startled by Jin's loud and sudden approach, keeling over backwards, the hammer flying out of his hand in mid-swing. "GyaH!!" he cries, landing roughly on his bum a few feet away. He glares back to Jin, shouting in return, though he does seem happy to see the mecha pilot once again. "Hey, what's the big idea sneaking up on my like that? And I didn't build any bridge, it's a natural formation." Flash calms slightly, chuckling. "Not my fault if you aren't familiar with the territory, now is it?"

Kalabar decides it's safe and descends slowly to the ground, landing softly. He looks over at Flash and Jin, then after a moment he walks over. Sitting down, tail twitching, he watches Flash at work.

Jin-Saotome thumbs behind himself and says, "Sneaking up on you.. what, you didn't hear the giant machine rolling up over there? Heh..." Jin finds Flash's hammer and tosses it back to him saying, "Nice place ya got here, nicer than the last time I saw it. Where's the hangar? I need to was off the Blodia."

Flash_Guardian blinks as the dragon lands, glancing up to the creature, then back at the shadow he is casting over Flash and Jin. He seems to smile happily. "Well alright ... at least now I can work in the shade," he says, picking up the tossed hammer gratefully. At Jin's words, Flash balks, one eye bugging out. "... hangar?" Flash groans, keeling over backward slowly to lay on the ground staring up at the sky. "First I have to modify my plans to include stables, and now a HANGAR?!" A hopeless look overcomes Flash's face as he watches the clouds roll overhead.

Kalabar shrinks his size to about a small horse, but retains his dragon form. Then he takes flight and heads back to the mainland.

Flash_Guardian whimpers as his shade flies away, squinting and shielding his eyes now with an arm.

Jaia-Asumoto would remain kneeling, hands poised over her lap, her eyes closed as the meditation continued. She would focus on her teachings, regaining, gradually...the fragments of her mind that she had lost during her dazed wanderings. It was peaceful here...and the construction had been proceeding smoothly, although why she was interested in it's success...she did not know. Her kimono was its usual sky blue, as she had not changed into a different one...seeing her wardrobe was still in an inn on the mainland along with armour. She would wash herself and then her clothing in the sea to maintain some sense of hygiene in this remote part of the world. Her bronzed complexion remained smooth...un-creased even with the landing of the dragon. But her narrow eyes, snapped open with irritation at the arrival of Jin's Blodia. She hated modernization as much as magic. Both played on human laziness and manipulated them to believe that other races were superior. Shaking her head, she knew she had lost her concentration and would --

Jin-Saotome makes squareish-motions with his hands and says, "Yeah, bout seven stories high, parts washing system, gradient power couplings, evac-frame with elevating platforms...." Jin rambles on as shade suddenly appears over Flash and Jin, a large shadow looming over. It's the Blodia's hand, and in the other the gigantic machine holds a set of planks and rolls of stucco-wire.

Jaia-Asumoto -- stand up slowly, her left hand moving gently to her side to ensure Ichijmond was still safe and close. Her feet were bare, and her hair was still wet from her bath but she did not really care. Her appearance had always been one of innocence, even when dressed for war, until the mask went down on her helmet. Yawning a little, she had decided to let her composure erode around the presence of freinds. She would not make them feel any more concerned for her than usual. She had gone to be early the night before to prevent discomfort...She had hoped that venture had been successful to some point. She would move gracefully across the grass toward the construction site, smiling.

Jin-Saotome waits for it.... waits for it....

Jin-Saotome shades his eyes and wonders if Jaia is coming towards them, or away from them?

Flash_Guardian sighs, pushing himself back up to his feet, still clutching the hammer. He looks back to Jin apologetically. "I guess I was too focussed on my work to worry about the noise," he tells Jin. "And yeah, this is where I hope to build the finest dojo you'll ever see!" Flash beams proudly, hands sweeping in a gesture that brings attention to the surroundings, and everything that has been accomplished up to this point. He looks up as Blodia's hand appears overhead, staring at the load it holds with curiousity. "Hmmm ... somebody wants to help, I take it?" He wrinkles a brow at the stucco wire, though. "But what's that for?" he says, pointing. To his side, he sees movement, turning to face the approaching Jaia, offering her a wave of greeting. He had found it rather curious that she would have stayed here as long as she has ... indeed, it hardly seems that she has left the island at all. Flash notes his need to speak with her shortly, but for now other concerns were pressing. >

[Flash_Guardian ] "I guess I can help you clean Blodia off, though our resources here are limited at the moment. What do you need me to do?"

Jin-Saotome shrugs to Flash and says, "I think it's for wrapping around the side of a dwelling for when you want to smear plaster or cement over it. The stuff got stuck to the Blodia right leg when I accidentally walked it through an apartment complex." Jin shrugs and turns around, waving to Jaia, then bowing to her while keeping eye contact. Jin says to Flash, "Got a hose?" right two giant blocks of metal eject out from the sides of the machine's back ports and go crashing to the ground! The heatsinks look like ten-foot tall ventilated metal blocks and have icky seaweed and salt deposits all over them.

Flash_Guardian winces at the loud noise made by the two falling hunks of metal ... and the sizable dents which they put in the ground upon impact. "Ummm ... can you please be a little more careful with your mecha? He could ... break something, which would be rather counterproductive." A sad sigh escapes his lips, eyes closing. "The only real water source we have around at the moment would be my canteen. Admittedly, the water supply inside the canteen will never run out, but you won't get much water pressure out of it to clean with." Flash ponders for a moment.

Jin-Saotome looks around rapidy and says, "Wah.... no running water? Hell, let's drill a well."

Jin-Saotome apologizes for the Blodia. "And sorry about that, I've got it on auto-pilot."

Jaia-Asumoto waves lightly at the pair, and returns Jin's bow. Although she was approaching, it did not appear as if she would interrup their conversation. She would turn gently, and stand beside the foundation for the Water end of the dojo. She would cross her delicate hands and stare listlessly into oblivion. She did not understand why she had not left yet either. Perhaps it was the mistake of always sleeping at low tide. Either way, she could not break her daily cycle without risking a lapse in concntration, and that...so soon into the recovery proccess would devestate her physically. She would sigh without any particular purpose other than to relax in the empty air of solitude. Granted there were two males not a fair distance away, but it was the remoteness of the island itself. She would draw from it, and find harmony. Smiling, she would brush back an annoying strand of hair with her right hand, tucking it neatly behind her ear. Nothing else to it, but to enjoy the calm...and thankfully, there was alot of calm --

Jaia-Asumoto -- to enjoy.

Flash_Guardian smiles at Jaia, seeing that she is in a somewhat happy mood, at least. Apparently she was enjoying her stay on the island, and why not? The scenery and atmosphere here was rather lovely, except for the complete and total disarray of the construction site. "A well, huh?" he says, grinning and rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "I guess that might be a good idea. Problem is, this whole island rests on top of a massive volcanic batholith. You can't go down more than fifty feet without hitting solid rock in most places." Flash shrugs. "I was assuming that we could rely on purified and desalinized ocean water as a steady source for water ... I guess I wasn't worried about that just yet."

Jin-Saotome thumbs over at Jaia and says to Flash, "What's up with Jaia? I haven't seen her in a while, and she looks kinda run-down. You working her to the bone with the construction?" Jin looks down and stamps his foot on the ground upon listening to Flash's words and replying, "A volcanic... wah? Like a magma-cap or something? Is it active deeper than 50'?"

Flash_Guardian spares another glance inquisitively in Jaia's direction. For being here as long as she has, Flash now realizes that she probably still has no idea what is going on here other than the construction of the dojo. He shakes his head at Jin. "Actually, she hasn't been doing much work on the dojo, if any. Mostly she's just ... been around." Flash shrugs. "And don't worry. From what I gather, whatever volcanic processes created this island have long since ceased. There's no more danger of an eruption here than at the heart of the Keep." Flash begins to walk over to his temporary encampment, where his bedding lays sprawled out over the grass and his bag of supplies currently rests. "Hold on, I'll get you that canteen. It's the best I can do, I guess."

Jin-Saotome says, Ah, I'll just nuke them with the lasers later. Makes a mess but gets the job done without water. The reason I asked about the volcano is that we can heat this place if we can dig down deep enough. Geothermal crap we learned at the Academy. Stick a big metal pipe in the ground and soak up the heat from lava or magma, then you heat water with it."

Jin-Saotome holds out his gloved hand for the canteen of endless thirst, he would like a drink however.

Flash_Guardian moves quite swiftly to the bag, setting the hammer down for a moment as he reaches for the canteen. Scooping it up, he haphazardly tosses it to Jin. "Geothermal ... yeah, that might be kinda nice. But like I said, I'm not sure if we could get it to work. I mean, how far down would we need to go?" Flash really knows nothing of such processes ... he has to look at a how-to manual just to nail a pair of boards together, for crying out loud.

Jin-Saotome catches the canteen and takes a drink, thinking for a moment. "Hmmm, dunno. We'd have to send someone down there to check. I found some caverns by the shoreline we could explore and see how far we could get. I know the Islands of Japan, what's left of them... *sniffles* were created by magma and such. There were miles and miles of tunnels underneath them that were created when the cooling gasses spewed out into the oceans."

Kade makes his way out to the island, only recently having been shown how to find it by Glyniss.

Flash_Guardian sighs while Jin takes his refreshing drink, looking back to the clearing once more. Perhaps Flash could take advantage of having the Blodia around. The wooden framework for the walls currently rested against a few trees at the sides of the clearing, just waiting to be properly erected into place upon the foundation. Blodia could lift the frames easily and hold them in place while Flash and maybe Jin and Jaia could secure them, which would sure beat having to hold them in place via magical levitation and hammer them in himself.

Kade hums softly to himself as he attempts to locat a trail that would lead him out to the build site. He makes no attempt to hide his presense as he walks, hands shoved deep into his pockets.

Flash_Guardian continues to wait, walking back over to the center of the clearing and staring at his handiwork. So many unanswered questions were being brought up by his friends now as each one seems to find a flaw or oversight of some kind. Flash doesn't mind, though ... better to correct such problems now during construction than later after the Dojo is built. Craning his head, he thinks he hears movement in the woods behind him, eyes now searching the woods at the edge of the clearing for signs of life.

Kade calls out as he reaches the clearing, as he's rather not surprise anyone, "Hellooooooooo anybody hooooome?"

Flash_Guardian hears a voice that he has not heard in some time, having to stop and think for a moment before he recognizes. "Kade? Is that you?" he calls back happily, as another of his friends seems to have decided to visit his island and see his little project. He begins to walk over to where he heard the voice coming from, preparing to greet Kade properly and show him around.

Kade nods when he steps out of the treeline and into the open, "Unfortunately, yeah, its me. I see you started without me there Flash."

Flash_Guardian laughs to Kade's words. "Yeah, uh ... sorry if I've gotten rather impatient, I guess," he apologizes, though in truth he can't seem to remember for what he is apologizing, exactly. "Don't worry, though ... we've made good progress, but much more still remains to be done. If you'd like, I can show you around?" Flash sweeps an arm behind him, as if inviting Kade into the clearing, grinning cheerfully.

Kade chuckles as he listens to Flash and looks over the clearing and whats been done, "Sure, I think I can spare enough change for the fifty cent tour, if you've got the time."

Flash_Guardian laughs once more, shaking his head. "Don't worry, this one's on me." He winks, quickly making his way to where the foundation now stands, ready for the walls to be erected.

Kade steps up to the foundation and looks out at what is being formed, "You don't do things in half steps, do you Flash? How'd you get most of this done so quick?"

Cannon is how. Incidentally, he arrives... instantly.

Cannon has a habit for turning up at appropriate moments, no?

Flash_Guardian holds up his hands and shakes his head. "Hey, don't look at me! I could never take credit for getting all this work done so quickly, even with the magics that I've been using," Flash explains. "Let's just say I've had a lot of help from Glyniss and some others, especially a man by the name of ..." And who should arrive but the man himself. "Cannon!" Flash calls out to the man cheerfully, waving in greeting.

Kade has a habit of not being there when he should. So it all works out.

Cannon looks over at Flash, and waves back in his typical non-emotive way. He walks over to the two, then makes a quick glance about. "Nobody else here today? Odd. Any progress?"

Kade nods as Flash waves to Cannon, "Weaver mans been making himself useful then?"

Cannon coughs, about enough to make himself heard. "Flash? A little research indicated that dojos typically have bamboo somewhere in their construction, is this not so? I'm not aware of there being any bamboo on this island, so I brought some." . . . . You couldn't see any bamboo about his person, so its safe to assume he has it temporarily stored somewhere. Maybe one of his pocket-dimensions. He has quite a few.

Flash_Guardian gestures with a hand to the many wooden frames that he has managed to assemble. He almost has the last one finished, in fact, just a couple more nails and they will all be ready to be erected and set into place. "I've made some progress since last time, yes. And there are a couple of others here also ... or there should be, anyway." Flash glances behind him, eyes rising to look at Jin's Blodia, a giant 4 story tall mecha, parked in the clearing nearby. "Jin's here, as is Jaia ... unless they've both run off on me." Flash then turns to Kade. "Yup, Cannon here is the one who finished clearing this place of trees, and sectioned the lumber into usable boards. He's also the one who laid the foundation for us."

Flash_Guardian grins at Cannon happily. "Bamboo ... yeah, that'll be great! Thanks again, Cannon." Flash beams at the man, nodding respectfully. "We can probably use it in the construction of the circular walkway at the outer ring of the dojo."

Cannon turns and reaches up with one finger outstretched. He traces an obscure design in the air (as he tends to do sometimes) for a few moments, then pulls his hand back and presses his palm flat against the same section of air. Much as suddenly as he appeared, a large but neatly organised pile of bamboo canes appears nearby. Large is precisely the best way to describe it, incidentally. Its about as much bamboo as one might need to build anything from it.

Kade chuckles and grins, "Hell, by the sounds of it, you don't even need me around here Flash. Just get our friend there to whip up whatever you need. Hell, I could take a shot at being managment for once."

Cannon looks back to Flash, glancing momentarily at the Blodia before focusing his attention soley on the owner of this area. "So, what should I help with today?"

Flash_Guardian smirks at Kade, looking at him sidelong. "However you think you'd be most helpful, I say go for it," he says. "But before we can have management, you'll need to have people to manage." He laughs, shrugging. "If nothing else, I think the next step would be to get these walls up ... following that, we should make some support beams for the roof that will cover the central arena and get those planted in the ground. If we work it right, I think four sturdy support beams should suffice, one in each far corner."

Kade nods as he listens to Flash, trying to picture the completed structure in his minds eye.

Cannon thinks on the idea of support beams for the central section. He recalls the exact blueprint measurements in his mind and calculates the required height, then examines the nearby trees that are still standing for appropriate ones.

Kade blinks a couple times as he remembers something, "Flash, how're you gonna get people out here when that bridge is covered by water?"

Cannon looks back to Kade. "There is enough extra bamboo and possibly extra wood to make a wooden bridge that will float on top of the water."

Cannon 's idea might not be a sound one entirely, but it could potentially work.

Flash_Guardian continues to elaborate on his plans, as the blueprints fail to describe exactly what he has envisioned in several ways. "The roof over the central arena is going to be in three sections, they way I see it," he says. "Each of them will be square in shape, the first two open in the center, with each successive section of roof slightly overlapping the previous section and standing a bit higher than the last. Between these three sections, I'd like a series of decorative arches to stand, holding up the section above it. Those arches will allow airflow into the dojo, but since the roof sections overlap it should keep out the rain and other harsher elements." Flash blinks. "Did that come out fairly clear?"

Flash_Guardian nods to Kade. "I was actually thinking of building some sort of bridge after we finish the dojo, yes. Something that will float. During low tide, it will rest harmlessly on the ground, while during high tide it should float on the ocean's surface. Such a bridge won't be difficult to construct in any case."

Cannon nods. He isn't precisely sure what Flash means by the explanations for the roof plans. He has some idea, but still isn't precisely sure, so its best if Flash does that himself or else gives very precise instructions. Incidentally, the same level of misunderstanding also applies to his player.... thats why in fact.

[Kade ] Buildin' something like a ferry may be easier then a bridge, but that depends on how quick that water flows.

Cannon tilts his head. "Its ocean water. Its tidal. It might rock a bit, if it can get that much energy around the island, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Alternatively, I could raise the landbridge up so it remains above water even at high tide."

Kade 's player goes before he passes out. Kade meanwhile will just be wandering around and stuff, looking things over.

Cannon could do that without much difficulty, especially since his player has done it before. His player has a large pond with an island in the middle, all at the bottom of the farmyard. Once he got so bored he went and tore up chunks of turf from the cracks in the yard and built a landbridge to the island. It was good for about a week.

Flash_Guardian can see the look of confusion on Cannon's face, so he simply shrugs and shakes his head. "We can worry about the roof over the central arena another day, after I've drawn up some more detailed blueprints," Flash says. "For now, we can just get these walls erected." Flash begins to move over to one of several frameworks leaning up against the side of a pair of trees at the edge of the clearing. "Maybe you'd like to double-check each of these before we set them into the foundation, Cannon? I'm pretty sure that I got the measurements right, but a second opinion never hurts. Measure twice, cut once, a friend of mine always says." Flash grins happily.

Cannon nods and visually scans the wall sections, then looks back to the construction site and the stone pillars. "These are to be the walls of which rooms precisely?"

Flash_Guardian gestures to the other three stacks as well. He's managed to keep things fairly well organized. The wall frames for the east wing are stacked near the east wing's foundation, the north frames near the north foundation, etc. Four stacks of wooden frames in all, each leaning up against the trees at the edge of the clearing, except for the southern wing's frames, which are resting on the ground for lack of any convenient trees nearby. "I've managed to get all the frames ready, for the outer and inner walls alike," he explains. They're all marked clearly in pencil, too, so I wouldn't get them mixed up ... north wall south wing, south wall south wing, etc."

Cannon nods. "Analysis confirms that the walls in this 'stack' will fit with 95% consistancy into the space provided. No changes need be made. I will check with the other walls now." . . . So he walks off and does so.

Cannon comes back a short few minutes later. "All walls fit to within 94% consistancy. Very precisely done for a naturally occurring lifeform. How would you propose they be put into place?"

Flash_Guardian nods proudly. "Gendrin always told me I had an eye for fine detail. Good to hear. Let me finish putting these last couple of nails in, and then we can start putting the walls up. Everything should fit together like clockwork, if I've done my homework right." As Cannon double-checks, Flash retrieves his hammer and a few nails, finishing the last frame just before Cannon returns.

Cannon re-checks the trees he identified earlier as being best for the corner-pillars of the central arena, just a momentary confirmation while he waits for the word

Flash_Guardian puts the last nail in and stands to address Cannon once more. "Well, they're too bulky and heavy for me to lift and carry on my own, as you may have guessed," Flash explains. "I've been using my magic to levitate the walls from place to place as needed before. I can use the same spell to levitate them where they need to go, but I'll need to maintain concentration if I'm going to keep them upright ... and I can't fix them into place while I'm concentrating." Flash frowns a little at his supposed problem. "That's why I was hoping someone would come around to help me put the walls up, because I can't do it alone."

Cannon nods, getting the hint well enough, and picks up the nearest wall. Holding it horizontally at arm's length above him, he asks simply: "Where should this one be put? Would you direct me?"

Cannon does cheat somewhat when it comes to lifting things. While he is stronger than almost any non-modified human, his strength isn't massively extreme and on its own doesn't exceed the capabilities of his refined muscle-tissue and skeletal support. He does however have enough energy control to 'cushion' large objects with a heat barrier of sorts as secondary support.

Flash_Guardian stares in wide eyed wonder as Cannon holds up a section of wall that spans nearly 25 feet in length and rises to a dozen feet in height without breaking a sweat. Though after everything else he has seen Cannon accomplish, it isn't a total surprise. "Ummm ... let me get a look at the markings really quick," he says, moving to check his writing on the side. "Looks like you have the north section of the east wall, Cannon." Flash quickly moves to where it needs to go, pointing out the spot. Sure enough it should fit just into place ... however the interior walls must also be taken into account, as the pieces join together in a rather predetermined fashion to fit as a whole. The order of assembly will be important, involving the outer walls being erected first, then the inner walls. To make things easier, Flash has designed things so that a small, short wooden beam can be 'slid' through key joints and nailed into place at certain points, making the walls much easier to join together.

Flash_Guardian can sense the heat in the air surrounding the wall, grinning slightly. Perhaps it was not as great a feat as Flash first thought, though how exactly Cannon is using excess heat to hold up the framework remains a mystery to him. No matter. As long as the walls are placed securely without being damaged, no questions need be asked.

Cannon isn't exuding enough to damage the wood. He carries the wall over to the specified location, and since its an external wall he lowers it carefully into place, making sure its precisely fit as specified.

Kalakr would appear swiftly and silently, as quick as the blink of an eye. This tall dark and handsome figure moved with the grace of many. He would turn head softly, upon it, long Jackal ears visable to all that looked upon his dark form. His long robe was no longer with him, there he stood only in his loincloth to cloth him from nakedness. The multiple earrings and jewelery would gleem brightly as he turned his lithe body, as he observed the people around him with bright yellow eyes, and long erect ears. Some of the individuals around him he knew, others not so well. With that, he let out a deep sigh and crossed his strong, toned arms across his chest, and gave an approving nod.

Flash_Guardian examines the walls placement, nodding approvingly, then moves to grab another spare piece of lumber of sufficient length, which he uses to prop the wall in place on one side. As he moves to gather another piece of lumber to brace it on the opposite side, he catches sight of another being nearby ... the Anubi from earlier. A friendly nod and a smile are given in greeting to the jackal man. "Welcome back," Flash says, retrieving another wooden board. "Kalakr, was it?"

Cannon just needs to get some indication of how this is going to be put together, then perhaps he could get the next one done faster. Thus he observes closely, and doesn't look to the jackalman.

Kalakr watches over the progress of the construction of this massive building. Seeing Flash he watches him closely as he casually swing around lumber. Noting his greeting, he nods respectfully and then speaks with a voice as dry as the desert sands. "I am." he answers with a slight bow of his own ebony head.

[Cannon ] (( Did you make holes in the foundation? If not, I could deal with that in a minute or so.))

[Flash_Guardian ] ((For simplicity's sake, let's assume that Flash has already done so.))

Flash_Guardian nods as he places a second beam to hold up the framework from the other side. Between the posts in the foundation and being propped up from either side, it should be fairly stationary at this point. "Alright," Flash says, nodding happily and wiping a bit of sweat from his forehead, "I guess let's get the next section in place ... probably the east section of the north wall. That way I'll be able to join them together at the corner and remove the support beams." An eager glance is shot to the jackal man. "I don't suppose you'd mind giving us a hand?"

Cannon skims over to the stack of walls again. This time he takes the lazy approach, and insta-transports the next wall into place. It vanishes from the stack and appears already in place, balanced pristinely so that it doesn't collapse. Beware of strong winds though. The next two outer walls of that room get the same treatment. It won't be a problem for Cannon to get the inner walls into place. You remembered to construct doorways we assume, now the thought arises.

Cannon is leaving the others to deal with support and beams and stuff, in case you hadn't guessed.

Flash_Guardian watches as the remaining frames simply appear in their designated places. "Whoa." Flash blinks once ... then rushes off to the side of the clearing to retrieve something, returning shortly afterward with a ladder. Flash had preferred to wait and set braces for each of the sections of wall where it was possible for the frames to topple sideways ... however at this point, all that remained to be done was to climb up the ladder and slide a few beams into place and the walls would hold their place, at least until Flash manages to hammer in a few connecting nails. Thanks to the trees surrounding the clearing, wind shouldn't be a problem. And yes, Flash has taken the inner doors and archways into account, allowing space for more elaborately decorated frames and such to be placed after the initial framework is erected.

Kalakr jerk his head back for a moment as if he handed him something disgusting. He perks a furred brow at him, wondering if he was serious. With a quick look of his mind, he realizes that there is no falseness in his statement. Still looking rather outofplace, he cocks his head to a side. "How can I assist?" he asks sounds somewhat struck as to his question.

Cannon , finished with that stack, turns and runs toward the site. He leaps, and lands atop one of the stone corner-columns he made for the structure. "Where are the nails, and where do you need them? Please indicate all places where you want the nails, then step back. This part needn't take long."

Flash_Guardian does as mentioned above with haste, placing a ladder at the northeast corner, climbing it, sliding a beam in place, climbing down, moving the ladder to the next place and repeating the process until all the frames are 'barred' together. "Well," Flash ponders as he works to place the beams, "have you ever handled a hammer and nails, Kalakr? If so, then that would be a good place to start. I marked an 'x' where each nail should go, so all you need to do is pound them into place and be sure not to miss a spot." Flash sighs, grinning a little. This was where the work would get rather repetitive ... not that Flash minded, really. Half the fun of a project like this is having the right company.

Flash_Guardian blinks, looking up to Cannon in surprise. Maybe this wouldn't take so long after all ... the mechanical man seems full of shortcuts. "I've got a whole supply of nails over by the rest of the unused boards," Flash says, indicating several crates. Where or how Flash seems to have acquired these crates is not known, though the crates do bear the insignia of a common modern era hardware store in red ink on their sides. There are also two additional hammers resting on one of the piles of boards nearby.

Cannon overhears. Nails go where an 'x' is marked? Confirmed. "I don't believe the hammer is needed for the insertion of nails. If they're made of what I think they're made of, then I should be able to handle it. Please stand aside when you're ready, as it may be dangerous to get too close."

Kalakr 's brow continues to her perked higher then another. He looks to the floor where a hammer is located "I know little about these primitive tools. Yet I will do what task I am givin." he says somewhat uncomfertible.

Cannon glances down at the walls in place. He checks something closely with slight concern: that being the nails that are already in the walls, holding them together. He must be careful not to disturb those.

Cannon starts his little game of 'Anything Magneto can do, I can do better' by gesturing to the nail supply. A steady stream of nails comes rushing toward him in single file, the hammers getting momentarily caught up in it as well before he gestures with the other hand and they are pulled apart and returned to their place. Still gesturing like some kind of wizard, Cannon draws the nails toward him and sets them circling around him in steady orbit like Saturn's rings. Oh the amazing things that can be done with magnetic fields. Anyone with a pace-maker is advised to stay well away.

Flash_Guardian just looks up at Cannon, chuckling and shaking his head in amazement. "Don't you ever do anything in a conventional manner?" he asks him. Another side glance is given to Kalakr, and Flash can see his discomfort. Flash moves over to stand near Kalakr, who is incidentally out of the way of whatever Cannon has planned. "Look," he says, addressing the Anubi politely, "if you don't want to help, that's okay. I just figured while you were here, you could help out if you wanted." Flash tilts his head to the side, curiously. "In any case, what can you do, if I may ask?" As Cannon checks Flash's placement of 'x' marks, he may percieve a few places where nails would collide within the wood if driven into the woodwork as marked. As mentioned, Flash has never done anything like this before. And, hey ... nobody's perfect, right?

Kalakr gives him a dull look for a moment. "I," the anubian began. "Am capible of far more then you human." he says not really meaning to be rude, but due to lack of understanding emotion, that's how it came out. Though to him he was simply stating a fact. "I will assist you." he said.

Cannon has analysed, and compensated for possible collisions. He isn't an architect either, but he is a living computer of substancial capability. Once Kalakr and Flash are out of the way, Cannon gestures again. His eyes and head are flickering in rapid motion to monitor everything he is doing pristinely. A collection of the nails break off from the ring around him, whirling outward like missiles, spinning in the air, and hammering home into the wood in one strike each. For a few seconds it sounds like a fully automatic weapon opening fire on the wooden walls.

Cannon , since he is already at it, transports the inside walls into place and gives them the nail treatment too. From the outside you wouldn't be able to see it unless you were looking in through one of the open doorways, but he does that. Yeah. Even if the beams are already in, the inner walls can be transported instantly into place. Its just a little matter of rewriting their universal coordinates.

Flash_Guardian frowns at Kalakr's prejudice, intentional or otherwise. Thankfully, Flash is a patient man ... anyone who is willing to set his mind to a task such as building a dojo with or without outside assistance would have to be. Flash looks back to Cannon now, hearing the rat-a-tat of nails being driven into the wood in quick fashion. "Well," Flash says, "I guess I would give you something to do ... but it's being done." He shrugs, shaking his head and watching the show as seemed to be the custom now. "You know, I honestly would have thought that constructing a building would have been a lot harder," he says, a note of sarcasm in his voice.

Cannon isn't master of everything, but anything that can be done by manipulating temperature or magnetism is generally child's play for him.

Kalakr looking to a small pile of nails near him and then to the nearest wall with markings for potential hammering to be done. Slowly he lifts his right hand, as he does so his eyes begin to glow a kind of misty yellow color. The nails near him would be alble to be seen rising individualy floating in the air, and then flying with great speed into the destined marks on the walls, nail after nail flying through the air until his "ammo" was depleated. He looks over to Flash with no real satisfaction in his voice, "My task is complete." he says almost drone like.

Cannon holds out one hand, all the remaining nails required for the rest of the building swirling together above his palm and clumping into one big nailball. Keeping this nailball floating near him, Cannon hops off the corner-pillar and walks over to the other two. "Shall we get on with the other walls then?"

Flash_Guardian beams in admiration after seeing his handiwork now assembled, quickly moving to get a closer look of the assembled wing, which incidentally happens to be the eastern 'Wood' wing which will house all the classrooms. It is also perhaps the most complicated wing, as far as the walls go, save perhaps the south wing. Flash actually steps 'into' the wing now, moving among what will soon be the hallways, stepping through each incomplete doorway to gaze around at an imagined classroom. He proceeds in this manner for a while, simply admiring the building which was at last beginning to take on a three-dimensional shape.

Cannon jumps upward, and hovers his way up until he is viewing the site from above, the ball of nails still accompanying him. He glances down upon the west wing, this seeming to be his next focus. A few moments are spent contemplating where all the parts are supposed to be going, the walls, the beams, etc. Then without further ado, he considers it time to get to work. . . . if you could even call it work. He doesn't feel all too bad about doing Flash's job for him either.

Flash_Guardian at last seems to come back to reality, glancing back to Kalakr and Cannon. "Yeah, okay. Let's get the other three wings up now." Still grinning ear to ear, he moves over to the northern stack of frames, preparing to assemble them while Cannon does his thing for the western wing, which will perhaps be the easiest of the four, being a simple open storeroom with no interior walls.

Flash_Guardian examines some writing on the side of the first frame of wood, then stands back, squaring himself and preparing to summon a bit of magic. "Kalakr," he calls back to the Anubi, "if I move this section of wall into place, can you brace it with a couple of boards so that it doesn't fall over?" No magic is summoned yet as Flash waits for the other man's approval.

Cannon focuses. The walls of the West Wing appear in place, support-beams appearing in their places the next instant. Another gesture for some magnetic manipulation sends a collection of nails breaking off from the surface of the ball and whipping round to slam into place in the boards. Within the space of a few minutes, the wing's base structure is complete as with the first.

Kalakr looks at the wall, at then braces, then back at the man with an approving nod. This type of construction was new to him, but he was adapting quickly.

Flash_Guardian returns Kalakr's nod, gazing back at the frame and beginning to focus. His hands, once resting at his side, begin to rise slowly and extend outward toward the wooden frame. Flash seems to squint his eyes as his focus increases substantially, at the same time flicking his hands out, palms open and facing the wooden frame, which begins to wobble slightly as Flash's magic encases it. From there, Flash simply takes a step back and raises his hands, the frame following him back away from the pile and lifting into the air slightly. Flash continues to walk backward until reaching the foundation for the north wing, the frame following him every step of the way until he reaches the frame's appointed resting place, where Flash proceeds to gently lower it, its anchoring beams finding their way into the holes that Flash carved into the foundation earlier. This done, Flash continues to hold the frame in place with his focus, waiting for Kalakr to do his part.

Cannon detaches enough nails from the ball for the North wing, and floats them in their own separate clump toward the others. Kalakr could deal with those if he wanted. Cannon is going to sort out the south wing, if thats alright.

Kalakr lifts his hand once more, his eyes glowing that same mysterious glow. The bracer boards shake for a monet befor flying through the air towards Flash, slowly they find there place under the frame.

[Flash_Guardian ] Cannon would find the south wing a bit more complicated ... as the blueprints show (which are on hand nearby, conveniently enough ~ http://www.geocities.com/flashguardian/keeplogs/FlashDojo.html ). A single wall divides the north and south halves of the wing, with an arch at its center. Another pair of walls in the northeast and northwest corners of the wing form a pair of separate rooms, which will be the private studies. All in all, the inner walls join with the outer walls in six different places, and there are twelve individual frames to be placed. If in doubt, however, Flash has labelled them all with pencil where each one should go, provided Cannon can make out the writing. Wood is not exactly an ideal writing surface.

Cannon hops over to stand atop the southeastern pillar of where the south wing will be. More gesturing in the air takes place, and the walls here start to appear in place too, held there by invisible forces so they don't topple (magnetism focused on the nails already in them). Inner walls get transported into place, Cannon having figured out which goes where by size and shape alone, then the support beams above and the works. The nails are dealt with slightly different this time, all of then sent to hover in place. . . then with a clap of his hands, Cannon powers them all in at once, causing the entire structure to tremor briefly. He releases the force now, and the wing seems to stay in place. Sure enough, he drops down inside through the open top and looks about. It seems well-designed. He glances back behind him at the obsidian clock he made yesterday, and notes that it is perfectly aligned. Good.

Flash_Guardian tentatively releases his magical hold on the frame, which seems to hold. He now moves to the center of the northern wing, and brings his levitating magics to bear on the second frame, lifting it slowly and bring it over towards him for a closer look to read the markings on its side. After that, Flash carefully floats the frame into its proper place. So long as Kalakr continues to brace the frames as before, Flash will continue this until all the frames are so placed, ready to be connected.

Kalakr moves with Flash to the new location. As befor, he urges the wood into it's proper place underneith the frame. Still the whole concept of physical laber was a something anew to him.

Cannon moves the rest of the nails back to where he originally found them, those being the ones left behind for the roof, the central arena and the residential building. Right?

Flash_Guardian would gladly converse more with Kalakr, but his spell seems to be attracting the bulk of his attention as he works to set the frames in place. At last, the last frame is placed, and Flash seems to relax slightly, hands moving to rest upon his knees. A trickle of sweat moves down the side of his face. Apparently Flash's magic takes a bit out of him. A go-ahead glance is given to Kalakr happily. "Alright, Kalakr ... let those nails rip."

Lilith_Spain walked along the sands of the island watching the water as it came ashore and then drifted back into the sea. The air was refreshing as was the new morning, a light smile ran across her sometimes covered face, as she knelt down to run her small fingers through the wet terrain below her feet. The girl was dressed in a tee-shirt which ran just above her belly, her tattoo was semi-displayed giving off the impression an angel was underneath. Her bottem part of her outfit was a pair of jeans which were ripped at the knees. She was content with her meak and humble clothing. Afterall, she didn't have many choices to chose from. Lilith looked around nervously, she was always on edge and uneasy during times like this. For being alone, was hell enough in her eyes. She rose from her crouched position and walked further, just exploring and keeping to herself much like always. Though, she really wanted friends, companionship, and most of all, a place of her own. Dreams, doesn't everyone dream?

Cannon hops off the corner-column of the south wing and skims away across the ground to a very particular tree nearby. He is taking things into his own hands again. Time for the cornerposts of the central arena.

Kalakr notices Flashes appearent fatiuge as the sweat drips off of him, then gives him a nod as he uses his mind powers to lift another pile of nails and sned then each flying every witch way to there marks. A few would fly through his form, with no appearent injury to the Anubis himself.

Flash_Guardian watches the nails seem to fly through Kalakr's form, intruiged ... he peers closer, trying to see if they having any physical affect on him at all.

Cannon finds one of the trees he identified earlier. He crouches with a twist, making a slicing motion near the base with one hand. There is a slight flicker near the base of the tree, and Cannon leaps with a twirl, hands out as he rises. Another flicker following the second chopping motion, and the bioweapon descends again. He steps toward the tree, reaches out and takes hold of the trunk. Being as its cut at the top and bottom, it comes free quite easily, and Cannon holds the trunk above him as he walks back toward the site, leaving the top of the tree to crash down onto the stump behind him. He doesn't notice what Kalakr is doing, but its worth noting that Cannon probably couldn't do that..... that being the nails-through-self thing.

Kalakr turns his head quickly to Flash, feeling his eyes on him. He gives him a look that would best translate as a sort of question. Being an anubian, Kalakr wasn't infact living nor dead, he simple was. The gifts and powers of the god Anubis were with him.

Lilith_Spain ventured deeper across the land, each small footprint left behind edged in the sand, only to be replaced by a gush of cool sea water as it came about the shore slowly dispersing leaving a watery mess. Lilly watched the ocean with great admiration, she didn't realize how beautiful life could be, though she never had much of a chance to explore life within itself. She at times, thought about being on a wonderful lush and tropical island. She would be a hostess and have many wonderful, intrigueing and amazing people to join her, her friends. Though, they were in her mind. They were afterall friends, none the less. She brought her cool fingers to her stomache and lightly itched it. She was growing cold, and was dangerously running low on cigarettes. She managed to buy a pack with her money she had stashed away from her slave master. Right now, she had no idea where she was. She travelled all night, braced the cool wind of the water, fought to keep herself awake though she desperately longed to enjoy herself.

Cannon slows as he approaches the area. Peering from under the large central section of the tree he carries, he carefully identifies the location where this column will go, then calculates angles, carefully compensating for wind speed and latent vibrations. He applies a strong force upward on one end of the column, letting go briefly to then catch it by its end. At the higher end there is a flash like sudden fire, and some of the extraneous material falls away as ash to leave a sharpened cone-point. Mr organic droid's next action would have made him very popular in the Scottish highland games... as he throws the centre of the tree upward. It arcs over cleanly in the air and slams down into the ground like an arrow. The ground shakes a little, but no damage is done. Cannon ensures that its at the correct depth by leaping up to such a height that momentarily he seems just a dot against the sky..... and drops down to land on top of the pillar like a piledriver, hammering it down into the ground with an applied force.

Omenis head lifts up a little as she poises by the earth bridge to the island ahead of her. Her hand in fornt of her as they rest lightly over her stomcah...as she stands perfectly still closing her eyes as she takes a deep breathe...her head tilting a little to one side almost as if she was listening .

Cannon gets back to work. There are three other trees he singled out earlier on, and chances are he is going to give them exactly the same treatment. His player is exceptionally lazy when it comes to describing exactly the same action several times. Lets just say he takes very little variation on the exact same technique to slam home the other three corner-pillars for where the central arena will be. Assurance is taken to make absolutely certain that they're all level and reach precisely the correct height while also being deeply anchored in the ground and unlikely to slip out or break free. That could be dealt with by the shifting of some of the rock down there of course. The point is that all is done to get the corners into place. Cannon stands in the middle now, looking at each in turn. He calls over to Flash: "Would you prefer them like this, or stripped of bark? I could add an artistic touch to the outer surface of each if you like!"

Flash_Guardian mops the sweat from his brow, at last rising to survey the four wings now, as complete as they are currently. At this point, he simply takes a few moments to walk amongst the framework, imagining what could possibly be a reality very soon. He also watches Cannon's new actions with a bit of interest ... seems like he's already started on the support pillars. Flash hastens his tour of the construction site, then makes his way towards his bag expediently. "Take five, guys," he calls back to the others, leaping over a tall pile of planks and boards in his path. "I'll draw up some blueprints for the roofs of the building, especially the central arena roof."

Cannon calls back, as only he would: "Take five? Five what?"

Flash_Guardian snatches a pencil, ruler, straightedge, and a roll of parchment from his bag, looking back to Cannon with an amused smirk. "Sorry. It's a phrase, short for 'take five minutes.' In other words, take a break while I jot some notes down." And so Flash does, getting to work sketching his plans.

Omenis smiles softly as a picture of a certain person comes as clear as crystal into her minds eye...both eyes opening as she takes her first tentitive step upon the bridge......though half way she stops and crouches down her hand scooping up a small handful of the substance...holding it to her face smelling it...the sea lingering upon it..holding it to her cheek now as she closes her eyes once more losing herself in her senes...

Cannon nods, and skims over in his usual heat-skating hoverman manner. He arrives nearby and peers at what Flash is doing from a little above.

Kalakr does as Flash says and walks slowly to the shore line. On his way there, he stops quickly in his steps. His large ears shifting around, for his senseitive nose picked up an all to firmuler scent, he looks around almost despritely for the source.

Stephany had been watching the ocean on the other side of the island. She didnt like noice of construction much, and so she was taking in the vew away from everyone.

Flash_Guardian quickly begins to sketch out his plans for the central arena's roof as he sees it. It takes a bit longer than just five minutes, given his appropriate tools, but when he finishes it will look as shown here: http://www.geocities.com/flashguardian/keeplogs/FlashDojo.html

Cannon glances at the sun, then briefly at the obsidian clock, then straight ahead once more with eyes flickering out of focus slightly. Just over one hour until he is needed for chores.

Omenis holds her hand out before opening it letting the sea mud drop to the ground noticing how different it is to the sand grians..its consistancy more solid. Pushing herself up she now stands and survey the land opulent eyes scanning the shore line and island

Flash_Guardian has finished the blueprints for the roof to cover the central area, and now begins to sketch how the roofs over the four wings will look, and a more detailed side view of the building showing how the buildings should look together.

Stephany sighs softly. It was soo beautiful here. And she knew that once Flash's dojo was finished that it would be such a serine place.

Cannon has turned by this point to just look at what is there thus far. Its not looking too bad. Unfortunately, he doesn't know any more about what the final result will look like than can be gleaned from Flash and his blueprints.

Omenis hooded head turns a little as she spies the lone female on the shore....watching her for a few minutes studying..wondering why she was there sighing softly as her senses only lightly touch the sadness unsure why such a feeling is there her attention once more goes to the island. Her steps taking her further across the bridge and closer to the opposite shore

Stephany lazily flops her tail from side to side. Maybe when this place was finished Flash would let her stay here. She could make sure the plants were waterd. She really was not that good of a cook. Not even she would eat the stuff she cooked.

Cannon turns his head eventually away from the construction, and over to Flash's stuff nearby. Of all the odd things to do, Cannon walks over to it and starts rummaging. He doesn't stop until he finds that canteen with the supposedly unending water supply. He opens it, takes a rather large (exaggerate the word tenfold) swig and then closes it and puts it back.

Flash_Guardian simply continues to sketch, completely aware of Cannon's glances over his shoulder. In his excitement, it is difficult to keep from rushing the designs, though he forces himself to keep a calm and steady hand as the pencil moves across the parchment, guided by the careful edge of a ruler.

Omenis easily manevors across the slippery bridge at last putting a booted foot upon the shore...glancing over to wards the lone figure in the distance head tilted a little in thought during her study once more. A smile spreading her lips as she turns and begins heading where her feet will take her towards the noise

Cannon can rummage through extradimensional space just fine, if it means he finds the canteen.

[Flash_Guardian ] The canteen is found with little trouble, actually. It's probably near the top, and has seen frequent use by Flash during the construction process.

Cannon wonders briefly what would happen if it was opened and tipped upside-down.

Flash_Guardian seems to have finished a rather detailed sketch of the roofs over the wings now, and is working on blueprints for the circular walkway and its relation to the rest of the building, as well as a more detailed side view showing everything all together. The sketches are really starting to shape up, and should be finished shortly.

Cannon loiters around now. There is less of his artificial origins now and more of his rather humanoid side showing through now. He seems restless, and possibly quite bored.

Omenis moves through the undergrowth...eyes widening at the birds stopping many times to peer at or crouch down to examine some sort of life that the island sems to be teeming with...her fingers touching ...eyes closing when she can hold things to her cheek before letting them go..awe clearly upon the face that can be seen...and thus because of the many stops and starts its takes her a long while to finely reach the site of the dojo

Cannon sits himself down on the ground, picks up a fallen leaf, and uses a microlaser to cut the largest square he can out of it. Then he proceeds to fold this leaf-square. Leaf origami is possible, if difficult and fiddly.

Cannon eventually, with a little difficulty, folds the leaf into a dove-shape. Its not for any particular reason other than he felt like it. Done with his amusement, he throws the dove-leaf aside.

Omenis breached on the borderlins of the clearing peering at the.....what was going on?..tentively she steps out of the slight camiflousge of the trees into the clearing...eyes quickly darting over this land for what must be people....someone...

Flash_Guardian grumbles, flipping his pencil around and rubbing out a few lines with distaste. Perhaps this wasn't going to be as easy or quick as he first thought ... too much more of this, and he'll have to give up for the day.

Flash_Guardian is currently seated on the eastern border of the clearing, working on some sort of fine sketchwork with pencil and parchment. The place now has the definite look and feel of a construction site, and a few wooden frames have been erected now to prove it, specifically for the north, south, east, and west wings ... though not as much has been done for the larger room at its center.

Cannon 's player gets that ' Didn't get enough sleep ' feeling as he yawns again. Cannon himself is still sitting on the ground when a pigeon flies over. He points one finger upward, and a narrow beam through the head brings the pigeon lifelessly crashing to the ground.

Cannon stands up and walks over to the dead pigeon, picks it up and. . . . with a few unpleasant cracking sounds, starts to fold it. Eventually, he has folded the pigeon into what appears to be a leaf shape. And why not? It worked the other way round!

Cannon throws the leaf-shaped pigeon, bloody as it is, over to where he earlier threw the dove (or pigeon) shaped leaf.

Omenis stops her eyes having come t linger upon the stranger studying his strange appearance...head tilting to the side watching...moving to see what he fired out as something falls to the ground which he proceeds to ..is that play with..she was unsure what it was except one of the creatures she had seen flying. Looking now at where the object had been cast aside wating to see what happens next . Eyes lifting upwards and a smile appearing as she sees Flash somewhat deep in doing some sort of chore

Flash_Guardian seems to be making some final headway when he hears a disturbing sort of cracking noise. He perks his head up, looking around for the source of the noise ... and when he at last sees it, he wishes he hadn't. Flash's face contorts in a grimace of extreme proportions, shaking his head in disbelief. "Cannon ... what did you ...?" And then Flash sees the little girl from a few days ago, Omenis. Flash's eyes dart quickly between the young woman and the bird which now lay dead nearby. "Ummm ..."

Cannon is bored, and its worth noting that he doesn't put all that much value in life, as the pigeon shows. He turns his head as he detects (or senses, or whatever it is people do here but he has a reason to be doing it) the new presence in the area. He looks over toward her, performing a distanced visual analysis of her momentarily.

Cannon gets the feeling from his analysis, just as his player does from the profile, that whoever she is she must be a 'late bloomer'.... or whatever they call them. It makes little difference to him though. Its another person. People are everywhere. He rarely takes interest in any except as potential power-sources... or unless they do something interesting.

Cannon 's eyes flicker as he registers the time. "Ah. I must leave for my chores now. Goodbye Flash." . . . . Without further warning, he vanishes.

Omenis glances towards Cannon as Flash's eyes seem to drop to the bird...stepping forwards now towards this strange being eyes widening as the self same being suddenly disappears...eyes dropping to the sopt he had been standing on before looking to Flash..." Did I scare him away?"

Flash_Guardian is just sitting there, stunned, as his heart goes out to the little bird. What terrible pain the poor creature must have felt ... an unforgiving scowl is given to Cannon as he whisks himself away to wherever. Seeing Omenis still there, he quickly sets aside his work and moves over to the now leaf-shaped bird to stand over it, gazing down at it with a sick, sad horror. "No," Flash informs Omenis plainly, revulsion still clear on his face and in his voice. "He ... has chores, apparently."

Mary_Leallow washes up on the shoreline in her kitten form, sputtering slightly

Omenis steps back...unsure about the lines his features have developed..tilting her head a little as she feels something more....something not very nice...." Chores?" the word spoken queitly questioningly...her features in turn taking on a puzzled look.

Flash_Guardian does not respond, choosing to remain wordless for some reason. He closes his eyes, bringing one of his hands up to his chest, cupping it slightly and gathering a bit of magical energy within it. He then opens his eyes, directing his hand towards the now lifeless bird with a somber reverence. Slowly, the form of the dove lifts from the ground, Flash's magics causing it to rise. Flash then directs his hand away, towards the forest, and the dove's body follows slowly. Flash continues to levitate the still bird's body as far away as his magic allows, until at last at the limits of the spell, some fifty feet away, the form drops out of sight behind a bush. Flash lets out a lingering sigh of sadness, letting his head and hand drop, along with the spell. Flash simply remains this way for a time, motionless and silent.

Mary_Leallow draws closer to the pair of people, drawn by scent and curiosity, after a short time either of them might notice the small black, again soaked from swimming, kitten

Omenis watches him silently unsure now whether she should have come here yet his own presence had called to her...her eyes dropping to the lifeless form as it lifts and moves indeed following with her eyes as it glides somewhat further away before looking back at him minutes before it disppeared into the bushes....eyes widening at Flash's silent montionless stand she moves quickly to him unusre what is wrong....her hand reaching out to touch his cheek as fingers touch the flesh lightly....her eyes closing..

Flash_Guardian does indeed see the kitten coming towards him, the same as he saw in the rather alluring woman Aphrodite's hands the other day. He kneels now, beckoning to the small sea-soaked feline with a gentle wave of his fingers and an even gentler smile. He speaks now, though his words are strange as he uses a tongue that reaches back to the very beginning to the universe in its age, a language understood by every intelligent and living thing, in this case the kitten. "You should know better than to swim the ocean, poor thing. If you'll come over here, I'll dry you off and warm you up."

Mary_Leallow bounds over to flash and sits at his feet, looking up at him 'yay! dryingness!' ofcourse, anyone who cant understand a cat would just hear "myu! myu!"

Omenis lets her hand drop as the kitten bounds over.....seeing Flash falling to his knee now as he seems to beckon the creature over...her head turning to look at the furry beast

Flash_Guardian feels Omenis's hand on his cheek ... perhaps she can sense his sadness over the unnecessary loss of the bird's life. If not, the look in his eyes may tell her as much. Indeed, though, his life force is yet strong as he scoops up the kitten, placing it in his lap. More magic is conjured, another subtle spell as Flash claps his hands together, a burst of heat now surrounding Flash's hands. Flash begins now to pet the small kitten, his heat-giving hands quickly drying the wet kitten. He lifts his head now, smiling over at Omenis. "I'm sorry you had to see that," he says, a lingering sadness in his eyes.

Mary_Leallow curls up in flashes lap purring and occasionally rolling around to make sure everywhere gets dry

Omenis tilts her head looking at the creature in Flash's lap....leaning over as she catches the sound that seems to be emitting from such a creature head to the side....." Are you hurting it?" bewildeement edging her words

Flash_Guardian quickly gives Omenis a reassuring glance, shaking his head. "No, no ... as far as I know, most kittens like to be held and have their fur stroked." Flash grins, trying to push aside the memory of the poor bird, though it seems difficult for him. "If you'll sit down, I'll let you hold her." And yes, he now knows it's a her. Perhaps by the sound of her voice somehow.

Omenis looks up at Flash......" A kitten"....a hand extending to feel..to touch....." why...its soft"..a smile appearing as Flash knows is her habit her head comes down to rest her cheek on the creature as she close her eyes

Mary_Leallow continues purring, batting a little at omenis's hair in a playful fashion

Omenis smiles broadens her voice excited....." I feel it Flash.........oooooh " eyes opening the opulent of her fire opals eyes dancing madly as she looks up at him like a child that has find some wonder in the world

Mary_Leallow continues purring, and just looking cuddly in general

Flash_Guardian continues to stroke the kitten's fur with his warm hands. "I'm starting to wonder about this fellow, Cannon," Flash speaks to no one in particular. "He has been a great help in constructing the dojo ... surely we couldn't have gotten this far so quickly without his help." The same sad look as before, when looking at the bird's lifeless body, returns to his eyes. "That he would take a life so easily ... it seems utterly horrible. I will need to speak with him the next time that I see him." He looks over to Omenis now, his eyes catching something that he hadn't noticed before, a tattoo of some kind on her forehead. It looks to be in the shape of an eye. He stares at it for a moment curiously.

Omenis tilts her head now away from the kitten...." Cannon?" she had not heard the name before puzzled her features move as such....even when mentioning the taking of a life she did not connect it to what had happened earlier though she senses his sudden sadness....

Mary_Leallow looks up at omenis, then at flash "myu?"

Flash_Guardian nods to Omenis grimly. "He is the one who shot the bird you saw, and ... twisted it into the form you saw." Flash seems puzzled by her ignorance on the matters of life and death ... or maybe innocence would be a better term. "I'll need to explain that to you another time. For now, I think it is time to rest for the night. The plans are all laid out, and there will be much to do tomorrow." He smiles now at Omenis, at last hiding any trace of his earlier sadness. "You're welcome to stay here the night with me, if you like. I think I have a spare bedroll in my bag somewhere." He seems delighted at the prospect of having company.

Omenis nods sensing the sadness he still seems to be possessed of.....that smile quickly forming at his invitation her gaze lifting and darting towards the barely started dwelling......true she had as yet no concept on death...but life....ooooh life seemed sooo wonderful to her

Mary_Leallow blinks "myu?"

Flash_Guardian 's player is tired, so he hands the kitty to Omenis for safe keeping and makes his way over to the campsite. If Omenis follows, he will make good on his promise and get her a bedroll to sleep in ... the kitty is welcome to stay too, as well. ^_^ Now, off to bed with me. G'night all.
