Personal Equipment

I see alot of personal equipment, but yet not what we're looking for sometimes, so again, I'm here to add some more stuff.
Blackhawk Tactical Assault Slings
Designed for longarms and submachineguns, the Blackhawk TAS is perfect for close combat, and other combat applications. Using a specialized harness, the TAS allows the user to carry his/her weapon in a ready position. Perfect for those snap shooting conditions. The sling allows the weapon to be shouldered and when not needing to be used, holds the weapon barrel down, and allows hands free operation without having to sling the weapon and lose precious time switching to the weapon. The sling can be used on Submachineguns, Carbines, Assault Rifles, Shotguns, and even some heavy weapons. This is heavily used by corporate/federal SWAT teams, and also special forces applications as well.

Camel-Bak
One of the most popular items that both is good for the outdoors and military use (I've seen alot of them around where I work personally), it is a "backpack" that contains 5 liters of water. The Camel-Bak comes with two adjustable straps, and for military users, a "low-observable" drinking tube that hangs from the Bak. They can be adjusted for a wide variety of body frames, or can be customized as needed. The user simply has to suck and they will be able to draw water for instant replenishment (or any other fluid as well). Perfect that long mission away from supplies or long hiking trek.

HALO Rig
HALO stands for High Altitude Low Opening, in which a person drops from an aircraft from very high altitude (between 7500 and 10,000 meters) and then free falls below the radar coverage before deploying a parachute. They allow operatives to be deployed with little detection, making this ideal for stealth and infiltration missions. And due to the high altitudes, this kit is used for drops above 7500m.
The HALO kit comes with an oxygen mask and tank, an integrated helmet with a HUD that displays altitude, position of friendly and enemy forces relayed by satellite, drone or other surveillance assets. A backup digital altimeter is on the wrist, and an insulated coverall augmented by a light flak vest (4/3) and a paraglider, which comes in computer facsimile patterns (treat as Camo Suit in FoF). A reserve parachute is mounted on the chest portion of the suit. Both parachutes can be disposed of quickly by using the Catalyst stick for the Stealth Grapple Line to remove any trace of anybody being around.
For an additional 1,000¥, a GPS control system can be added, to allow more precision landings. This adds 2 kilograms to the weight of the HALO Rig.

Kenbishika Protective Wear
A new combat system designed by Kenbishika Research Systems, Japan, the Kenbishika Protective Wear is a new light armor system that is designed mainly to be worn under clothes. The system consists of a heavily modified combat harness that protects the groin, and the upper torso as well as gloves, and forearm blade protection. It does not protect the arms, or the thighs or upper legs of the wearer. The other part consists of a special leg "wrap" that resembles bandages, against the middle of the thighs and the lower legs, as well as the shins. They end in comfortable boots that has a sheath for a combat knife (Reach 0), the soles are soft to allow near-silent movement while moving (GM's discretion on modifiers vs. terrain). It's designed for use against projectiles, and of course blades. It is lightweight, and the torso portion can accept accessories as per the FireForce II system described below, with a total value of 10 points.

*This is when trying to notice this under clothing. However, if the overlying clothes are tight, it's Concealability rating is halved. If the character has the whole thing fitted out, it's gonna be obvious that it's worn. Naturally, if the character wears it without any covering, it's obvious.

It should be noted that some of the body is going to be exposed if worn alone. Called shots are allowed of course against these exposed areas..

Large Inflatable Boat
This is a portable boat capable of carrying up to eight fully equipped soldiers (up to 1700 kilograms of weight). It can be inflated within three minutes using an air tank or compressor, and can be deflated quickly for storage, taking only a minute and a half. Each boat comes with six paddles and a tank of compressed air for inflation (up to five times, it itself weighs 1 kg). The rubber coating is also lined with a layer of Kevlar, and provides limited protection against small arms fire (3/2) and impact weapons. The boat has as a small repair kit that can patch up holes in the boat. Contents are three sheets of patching material, scissors, and epoxy. This system is common to all forms of military forces around the world, the only notational difference is the manufacturer. As an addition, a small outboard motor can be installed on the rear for faster propulsion.

Low Altitude Low Opening Rig
Designed for those times when you need to get in quick, or have penetrated the airspace at low level. This is a modification of the HALO gear above. However, what's missing is the flak vest, altimeter, HUD, and the reserve parachute. Such drops are conducted at around 200 feet (61 meters) high. However, it should be noted that when conducting such drops, that the terrain must be suitable for this kind of operation. The pull cord is attached to the zip line that the person slides and pulls the parachute out. It immediately opens to a paraglider, allowing controlled landings where needed. It can be camouflaged like the Camo Full Suit if needed. The kit comes with a parachute, a helmet for landings (2/2). The parachute can be discarded with easily with the Catalyst Stick used by the Stealth Grapple Line to remove any trace of being there. When carrying backpacks and such, the backpack is normally attached to a cord in the front of the person, which allows the soldier's equipment to be carried without getting in the way of the person.

LC Industries Camo Nets
Why spend all that nuyen, and an AGM or laser guided bomb just blows it away? Of course not, you wouldn't. So why not cover it up? LC Industries offers a wide variety of camouflage nets to protect your vital equipment. Both available for personnel, and for vehicles (with a secondary capability for small buildings depending on type). All Camo nets are designed to both break up the covered object's visual, infrared, and radar signature in respect to the terrain. Using the latest in computer facsimilie patterning technologies, we can supply a net to match the terrain almost anywhere. Each kit comes with an appropriate sized net, carrying bag that can be strapped on vehicles for carry. For both the personal and vehicle nets, the kit also comes with spreaders, poles to erect the net above the vehicle, and stakes to secure the net to the ground.
Type Rating Weight Cost
Personal * Body x .5 Body x 100¥
Vehicle * Body Body x 1,000¥

*see below
**see below

Like the Camo Full Suit, the nets offer a +4 modifier to Perception tests. For sensor based tests, the net adds 2 to the Signature of the vehicle. The Personal net must be purchased in respect to the character's Body +1. For a character with a Body o 6, he or she must purchase a net at a rating of 7. However, due to the size of the net, it can accommodate up to Body x 1.5, or an effective rating of 10 for a Rating 7 net. This is to account for the extra space that the net gives when erected. Erecting a Personal net is equal to the rating in minutes, so a Rating 7 net will take 7 minutes to erect/tear down. Vehicle nets however, require Rating x 5 minutes to erect/tear down.

And since FASA doesn't know crap about nets, I decided it was time someone put out something that someone has actually used them. Additionally, if you're looking for a "Night" version, forget it, it's ALL WEATHER, any time of the day. Why FASA did that in Cannon Companion I have no clue, but someday we might figure it out...

Phillips Light Tactical RadioTM (LTR)
Smaller, and designed for light operations, Phillips has designed the Light Tactical RadioTM. Weighing only 10 kilograms, the LTR offers many capabilities the Portable Master Unit at a smaller and lighter package. Fully ruggedized for combat use, the system can accept feeds from standard land-lines, satellites, laser-links, and microwave-relay links. Like any Phillips systems, it is fully interfaceable with the Sony Corp's BattletacTM system. It is a fully encrypted system.

Philips Tactical Radio System
For any military, communication is vital for getting the job done. For this, the Switzerland subsidary of Philips offers the Philips TRS. Unlike the other systems, which is geared for controlling the battlefield (the Portable Master Unit, and the Light Tactical Radio), while the TRS is for communicating on the battlefield. The TRS offers 10 frequency hopping channels, and 8 single channel frequencies. For COMSEC (COMmunications SECurity), the TRS comes equipped with COMSEC pre-installed. However, this is definitely modifiable to end-user requirements as it allows custom algorithms to be made for any force. It's lithium batteries allow it to transmit for a long time, and a power amplifier unit extends the range. Standard ranges for normal battery equals around to 30 kilometers, while the power amplifier doubles the range to 60 kilometers. The radio comes with a handmike, with a keypad for selecting frequencies, and allows customization of encryption routines. However, the handmike can be removed, and with an adapter kit (.1 kg, 200¥), the Personal Headset can be used with this radio. And like any Philips equipment, it can use any accessories, and fully interface with the whole Philips line of communication gear. When you need to survive on today's battlefield, shooting and moving can't happen if you can't communicate! The system comes with a collapsible antenna (Concealability 4/2 (when folded/extended respectively), .2 kg) that allows it's superior range. The handmike has a lighted keypad for use in the dark, as well as all knobs have low-light strips to also allow use in darkness. The radio has these measurements:
The kit also comes with a carrying case, that is fully compatible with the TAG FireForce II system. It holds an antenna in a side pocket, as well as four pouches for batteries.

The lithium battery can last for 4 days on continous transmission. However, little use will of course extend the battery lifetime, frequent use will extend the battery time to 6 days. Batteries weigh a meager .3 kg, and cost 200¥ each. They're always available, it's a battery! Needless to say in my mind, I created this in mind that FASA didn't think about the grunts in FoF. I hope this helps!

"Ranger" backpack
This large framed backpack is designed to carry alot of stuff,up to 100 kilograms through the use of advanced materials, while remaining light. Wearing at full load does add a +2 modifier for any Quickness tests (100 kilograms, though you can go as high as 125 kilos) and at 50 kilos a +1 modifier is added. There is no effects at 25 kilograms (Be happy, I'm giving you all a break. This is of course due to the laws of gravity, inertia, etc. Note that the above modifiers also reduce Quickness by the same level (such as a +2 modifier reduces Quickness by 2, +1 by 1, etc..). Conversely, for each Quickness modifier, after 25 kilograms, reduce target numbers for attacks against the character by -1 (to a maximum of -3) to reflect the increased size of the pack when loaded down. The pack features one huge pocket (most useful for clothing, and other material) that measures 75 cm and a small pocket on the bottom of the pack. The pack can handle up to a Concealability of 2 on the top large pack, and a minimum of 4 or greater. Dimensions is 100cm length-wise (all dimensions are expressed as looking at it laying horizontally on the ground) x 25 cm height-wise, with the width being 45 cm. The smaller pocket is only 25 cm l x 20 cm h x 10 cm w. There are many attachment straps that can fit most items, like sleeping bags, weapons, etc. Note obviously this calculates against total weight carried. Note that due to the large size of the frame, there is a dwarven version (halve all dimensions but weight capacity remains the same). Note that the "Ranger" uses the same attachment system as for the TAG FireForce system, which can be located here, at the bottom of the page. The backpack itself can hold up to 20 points of extra sheaths, etc. This is a temperate weather version of the "Yukon" backpack. The "Ranger" backpack is also available in a lighter version, the "Light Ranger", is a smaller version, and has half the dimensions and weight capability of the "Ranger" version. Use the same rules as for the standard version, only that it can mount only 10 points of equipment for the TAG FireForce system. It is also available in a dwarven size for the full size of the "Ranger" series. The number of points can be increased (up to double the amount) by 20¥ per point. The fabric is designed to be water repellant, and for an additional 100¥, can be chemical repellant as well.

Small Inflatable Boat
Like the Large Inflatable boat, the Small Inflatable Boat is designed for smaller unit operations, and to present a smaller target. It is also lined with Kevlar (5/3) and can be inflated with the same compressor used by the Large version, only however it can be inflated ten times. It can hold up 800 kilograms of equipment. It is also equipped with a smaller outboard motor, which is removable. It also comes with a repair kit to effect repairs. It is also a generic item, with numerous manufacturers.
