A new linear development from the MP5 family, Heckler & Koch engineer Erma Shumer designed the MP7. Designed for jobs such as ExecSec, where concealable firepower is needed, it also fills a requirement for SWAT teams requiring the same power of the MP5 family, yet more easier to maneuver. The major step away from the Heckler & Koch tradition is the adoption of the helical clip. Able to carry thirty rounds of 9 x 19mm caseless, it offers the same staying power. It can either be removed as standard, with the top portion of the guide rail inclined so to allow efficient removal 3/4 of the clip, or the user can simply point the barrel downward, and allow gravity to do the rest. However, designers noted that to use the common diopter rear sight and front sight, it would not present any improvement. So they chose to offset the sights to the side of the weapon, and aligning them 45º so a firer can aim the weapon without presenting a higher profile. Constant testing of this design ensured that the weapon held the same accuracy expected in all Heckler & Koch weapons. Both the rear and front sight can be removed to offer a better concealability, but accuracy suffers. The front sight clips in a well on the handguard, while an Allen wrench is provided to attach the rear diopter sight to the holes below the clip, above the grip. Removing the front sight is simple, with a depression in the mounting part that the user inserts a pen, or the allen wrench to release. A scope mounting system has been developed to allow all types of scopes to be mounted, as well as other sighting accessories. Accuracy is also enhanced for those who are enhanced, featuring the common Smartlink II system. The weapon when purchased comes with sights for both right and left handed shooters. Most of the weapon is fully ambidextrous, with manual fire selection and ejection of jammed rounds on both side. However, the cocking handle is on the left side of the weapon. The weapon itself is a ceramic framed bullpup weapon, allowing weight to be greatly reduced, offering a light, compact platform for tactical missions. The buttcap has been modified to allow three stock options to be mounted, giving the MP7 three designations common to the MP5 series. The first version, the MP7A1, has a solid stock attached. The MP7A2 variant has no stock, while the MP7A3 variant has a sliding stock. Shock pads are mounted on the end of the stocks to allow compensation, also afforded by the Imp. Gas-Vent III system, giving superior compensation. Additionally, it should be noted that compensation can only be offered by the barrel compensator with no stock attached. Another option that is shown above, is the SureFire 700 tactical flashlight system. It holds a MAG-LITE flashlight that is effective out to 20 meters, and can be activated manually by a pressure bar on both sides of the handguard, or controlled cybernetically through the use of the Smartlink II.

*Concealability for all three versions: MP7A1 (solid stock): 5 MP7A2 (no stock): 6 MP7A3 (sliding stock): 6 (5)
**Weight is 2.04 kilograms for the MP7A2 variant.
The weapon mounts a barrel mounted Imp. Gas-Vent III that offers 4 points of recoil compensation. When using either the MP7A1 or A3 variants, the mounted shock pads offer 2 points of compensation. The front and rear sights require each a Simple Action to mount, and remove. A +1 to concealability is gained with these removed. Common practice is to mount a scope, reduce concealability as normal. For example, if the sights are removed, and an Image Magnification-3 scope is attached, it will still have a concealability of 6(5). It also mounts an integral Smartlink II. It should be noted that if a character is ambidextrous, and wishes to have both sight systems (left and right) installed, reduce the Concealability by -1. The sight kit comes with these accessories:
Left/Right Front Sight Post
Left/Right Rear Sight Post
Allen Wrench
Left/Right Scope Mount
Solid stock
Sliding stock
