The Benelli 48 however is less expensive, and not as many bells and whistles as the Benelli 46. Chambered in 10 guage, the Benelli 48 is slightly more powerful than the Benelli 46 and weighs less, through the use of ceramics on the frame. The Benelli 48 features a folding stock, also with an autostabilization stock as well as level 2 shock pads, and fires caseless ammunition, like the Benelli 46. The weapon mounts Smartlink II hardware, and the handle carries an Image Magnification-2 scope. Mounted behind the scope is a cheekpad, like the Benelli 46, to assist in acquiring targets. Like the Benelli 46, the weapon can switch out scopes to improve it's capability.
