Seburo M58 Portable 40mm "Automatic" Grenade Launcher

With the introduction of the M57 "Smart" 40mm Grenade Launcher, Seburo, two weeks later, introduced the M58 "Automatic" Grenade Launcher. Borrowing an old concept from the last century, Seburo also borrowed the concept of the MGL series weapons, and adopted it for the heavier 40mm Grenade. It is a bullpup, ceramic framed weapon that is fed from a four round hopper, or clip. The rounds are loaded like normal rounds, but the hopper is in itself unique. Complementing the ambidexrous construction of the weapon, with a button forward of the ejection port, to allow both left- and right-handed firers to use the weapon with the same accuracy. Since such a hopper would present a slight discomfort to the firer, it has been constructed with a flat side, so that the user may comfortably position his or her arm when firing. The other side faces inward, therefore not causing any discomfort (the picture above shows the weapon configured for a right handed firer). The clip itself is ambidextrous, allowing the rounds to be inserted in the preferred direction. TAG FireForce pouches are also available for efficient carry of these clips.

Feeding of rounds is by a 'U' system, allowing full reliability when firing. There is no capability to mix and match, and select the appropriate type of round suited for the job. In case the clip does not have what you need, the bolt can be locked back, and operated like a breech fed weapon. The user simply removes the clip, locks the bolt to the rear, inserts the desired round, releases the bolt, chambering the round. To ensure reliability, the weapon has a poly-resin outer casing that can have the latest in camouflage patterns, or colors to suit your needs. This does provide some environmental sealing of the weapon.

Accuracy for the weapon is ensured by the use of a flip up leaf sight at the rear of the carrying handle. It is graded for every 50 meters, up to 300 meters. For those who are augmented, the M58 features Smartlink II combined with the new Rangefinder Air-Timed Grenade Retrofit, allowing both ATAT, and DSAT rounds to be fired from the weapon. Accuracy is also enhanced by the use of an Improved Gas-Vent on the barrel, as well as shock pads on the butt of the stock.

The weapon cannot mount any accessories. Recoil is +2 per round. The barrel mounts an Improved Gas-Vent I offering 2 points of compensation, while the butt offers 2 points. TAG FireForce II pouches hold one clip, and take up 3 points.
