Dr Tofü Ono
Entrance: V1.3, Nibunnoichi part 2
Distinctive features: A young man in his twenties, who has a small pony-tail, and wears a pair of glasses, and simple clothes.
Why does he go nuts when he sees Kasumi?
[C1,5] That's love for you.
Why was he dropped from the manga?
Probably because Ms Takahashi decided he didn't provide enough laughs. He was last seen in V13.3 i loved him so much though.... Too bad we didn't see him hook up with Kasumi.
Ryöga Hibiki
Entrance: V2.2, Nibunnoichi part 6
Distinctive features: Long canine teeth, patterned bandanna around his head, often carrying a large back-pack and a bamboo umbrella.
Does he really love Akane?
Yes.
Why doesn't he tell her about his curse?
[C2,5] Because she wouldn't love P-chan anymore, and she'd probably hate Ryöga.
Why doesn't he tell her that he loves her?
[C2,5] He tries, but gets too embarrassed.
What kind of gifts does he give her?
He gives her traditional omiyage gifts from his travels, which are often food, and are specific to the region (ie a local delicacy), often sold in tourist shops, for those who want to take something back home to their friends and family.
How many bandannas does he have?
A few, but after his introductory story, the most he's ever been seen with is two - in V22.10 he's wearing one, and another is on the clothes line.
How much does his umbrella weigh, and why is it so heavy?
[C4,5] Must be at least several 100 Kg's, but as for why something made of bamboo is so heavy, is unknown.
What happened to all his bandannas?
Maybe he lost them and couldn't find them again.
Where are his parents?
Out somewhere - they are as directionless as him, though his dad did once phone Ryöga.
Why is he so stupid and gullible?
Maybe because he doesn't get much chance to talk to, and interact with people as he's always lost.
Why does he have no sense of direction?
[C1,5] Genetics - his parents are as bad as he is.
Why does he blame his curse on Ranma?
Ranma did knock him into the pool, but even when he didn't know that, he blamed Ranma because his failure to be at the fight (when Ryöga was 4 days late, and Genma had probably dragged off Ranma), ended up with him being cursed.
Gosunkugi Hikaru
Entrance: V5.1, Nettouhen part 96
Distinctive features: A weedy looking boy with bags under his eyes, and sometimes wears lit candles strapped to his head when trying to do magic.
Is he any good at magic?
Has never displayed any magical capabilities - except not setting his hair on fire with his candles.
Happosai
After years of abuse, Genma and Soün sealed their old master into a cave, but many years later he got out, and now lives at the Tendös. This tiny, perverted leech's only major enemy is Ranma - the only person to regularly stand up to him.
Entrance: V7.5, Nettouhen part 15
Distinctive features: About 1 foot high, almost bald old man, smokes a pipe, and is often seen running ahead of a mob of girls chasing after him for stealing their underwear.
Why did he come back to the Tendö döjö?
He wanted to train someone to be the real successor the the Anything Goes School of Martial Arts. Also, he gets free food and board, people to fight, and cute girls to fondle.
Why is he such a pervert?
[C1,4,5] Unknown.
Why does he steal underwear so much?
He's pervert, and is addicted to it - if he doesn't touch a girl's body, or underwear for long enough he looses his strength.
How did he get to become Genma and Soün's sensei (master)?
[C5] Unknown.
Ukyö Kuonji
After engaged to an unknowing Ranma at 5, and Genma running off with the dowry, she turns up for revenge, but falls in love with Ranma again. she owns Ucchan's, an okonomiyaki shop, often wears boy's clothes, and wields a massive spatula. 'Ucchan' is Ukyö's cutesy childhood nickname to Ranma - which he still uses (this is common in Japan), and 'Ran-chan' is Ranma's nickname to Ukyö.
Entrance: V9.5, Nettouhen 23
Distinctive features: Wears boys' clothes to school, and rarely wears strongly feminine clothing, and uses a bandolier of spatulas as well as a massive combat one.
Why didn't she tell Ranma that she was female when they were younger?
[C4] Maybe she assumed Ranma knew she was female.
Why did she want revenge on Ranma?
Because Genma took her dowry and ran off with Ranma, leaving her, when they were supposed to take her, and she felt very humiliated after that - other children laughed at her.
Why did she throw away her feminine side?
[C4] After the pain of her first love, she probably didn't want to experience it again.
Why does she have such strange boyfriends/love interests, and other people she knows?
[C1,4] Just unlucky, and also because of her dress-style. She loves Ranma, who's not male all the time, Tsubasa fell in love with her, and he dresses as a girl (and post-boxes, and other odd stuff you'd find on the street), and Konatsu (who was raised as a female ninja). She also knows another okonomiyaki shop-owner, who is shaped like a spatula (V30.11). She also had had a contest with a boy who makes takoyaki (octopus balls) when they were younger, and since he lost he wore a mask for the next 10 or so years, but he finally took it off when he beat her in V33.11.
What is that food she makes?
Okonomiyaki
Why does she wield a giant spatula?
She studied okonomiyaki-style martial arts.
Why does she still wear boy's clothes?
[C4] She wears boys clothes to school, but her normal clothes aren't boys', though they're not normal girls' clothes either.
Hinako Hinomiya
Furikan gets a child-like English teacher, with an awesome chi-sucking attack, which temporarily turns her into the best shaped babe in the series. In child form has many child-like attributes, like wanting sweets, playing with toys etc, and she also wants to marry Soün.
Entrance: V25.3, OAV 4
Distinctive features: either looks likes a young child, or a twenty-something woman, has Long dark hair in either form, and clothes that fit both a child and adult - though they're more revealing in adult form.
Why did she become a teacher?
[C3] Probably because she likes to discipline people.
What does she teach?
English.
Why does she become an adult when she sucks up chi?
[C3] The strong fighting spirit changes her to probably what she would look like if she hadn't been sick as a child.
Why does she want to marry Soün?
She fell in love with him when he was so kind to her when she was in her child form.
Akari Unryü
Ryöga's cute and shy new love interest, who gave him a love letter after he easily beat her champion sumo-pig, knows about his curse and loves him all the more for it, as she really loves pigs.
Entrance: V30.1, not in any anime
Distinctive features: Wears pretty girls' clothes, has long hair, and often has her huge sumo-pig around with her.
Why does she love Ryöga?
Because he beat her 14th generation champion sumo-pig, which was a condition for her to be able to marry someone, by her grandfather. Also, he reminds her of pigs - which she really really loves.
What does she think of his curse?
She thinks its great - danced with joy when she first found out.
Konatsu
Highly skilled but downtrodden male fighter, who was brought up female, and trained in female ninja attacks, and is used to (and happily does) menial labour. Works at "Ucchan's" as a waitress for Ukyö, who he loves.
Entrance: V35.6, not in any anime
Distinctive features: Either female-ninja clothing, or cute-waitress clothing when working, and has his hair in a long pong-tail.
Why does he think he's a female?
He was brought up as a female.
If he's such a good martial artist, why didn't he do something about his situation?
[C3] He's wasn't strong willed enough to oppose his foster-mother, also because he would have had trouble finding somewhere else to live.
