Ruri Ruri is perhaps the best known character of Nadesico. She is the navigator, and seems to have a special affinity with the ship. Ruri is 12 years old, the youngest recruited member of the Nadesico. Nonetheless, she also probably the smartest. The majority of her lines seem to concern calling the adults on the ship idiots, and that's what she does for the majority of the first 3 episodes. Ruri is a very dry character, and the only member of the Nadesico who doesn't get worked up over nothing. She tends to remain very calm, regardless of the turmoil around her. She, too, however, falls in love with Akito, although she does not make a big deal out of it like Megumi and Yurika

Megumi Megumi takes care of communications above the Nadesico. She is a very kind, and caring person. (although in one dialogue with Ruri, she is called cruel and admits that she is, what she is) Megumi is one of the first females to fall in love with Akito, and they almost immediately get together. However, their romance is rather short-lived. Despite her usual contented attitude, when it comes to Akito, Megumi can get quite tough. Unfortunately that's the only t e's tough, and she spends the majority of the series happily smiling away.
Minato Rats. Now I am sad. I finally have to admit that I haven't seen the whole series because I really don't know much about Minato. She is the helmswoman aboard the Nadesico, and isn't the brightest apple in bushel ::snickers:: Anyway, Minato tends to sleep, and read. That is apparently her only purpose aboard the Nadesico. She quit her former job as a secretary because it was too boring. Her new job isn't much of an improvement. And to make matters even worse, she's replaced (or at least loses half her job) to Erina. Now isn't that an awful role? The only distinguishing thing about Minato is her love, the Jovian lizard. Uh. . .that's all I know about Minato.
Jun Poor Jun. He has perhaps the worst role of anyone in Nadesico. He was originally Yurika's fiancee, but was relegated to "A special friend." Anyway, despite being the 2nd in command on the Nadesico, Jun is pretty much ignored. He's in the series quite a bit in early episodes, but later disappears almost completely. He's fighting a losing battle with Akito for Yurika's heart, and nobody even knows why he bothers. And then, to add insult to injury, Jun is constantly mistaken for a girl. Poor boy. However, if you are a fan of Jun, make sure to catch the 5th episode. You get to see him perform his own personal funeral. . .what religion it's for, I won't ask. Other then that, Jun is also a pilot! yea! But he's a bad pilot. Poopy. But then again, he hasn't been a pilot very long, so give him some credit! He also must know a lot about baseball, because he's able to communicate using symbols. He has a really nice body, and likes to eat Ramon's noodles. (But not all by himself for 16 days)

The Admiral He's old. he's in charge. He likes to drink iced tea. He dropped a Chulip on the Martian settlement where Akito lived. Basically the admiral has no purpose until the third tape. that's when Akito finds out that the admiral dropped the Chulip. Akito gets off, decides the admiral's evil, and punches him. Later on the Admiral sacrifices himself so that the others can escape. He's a pretty nice guy.

Erina She used to be ther chairman of Nergal's secretary, but signs on as the Nadesico's co-helmswoman. She is exceptionally bossy, and often takes over other people's jobs. She has a thorough dislike of Atakaski for some reason, and joins every other girl on the sihp with falling for Akito. But Erina doesn't let her love life get in the way. . .she is a VERY ambitious woman intent on getting what she wants.
