Ok, yeah. Just got home, and I DID buy out the whole store! Well... about $98 worth. Whooo. Sure is a lot o' food I have now. No more Spam eating for a while! Yaaay!

Bad stuff though... Cheruse (dunno how to spell it!) went off to LACMA the ONE day I go out and do something! Waaah! It was supposed to be tomorrow dammit! TOMORROW! :-( Now my plans of getting my paper done super early (w/ TA input) have gone up in smoke. Now my options are: 1.) Just ask him about what he saw 2.) Get Carlo to take me Saturday, or 3.) Public transportation. (ick.) Hopefully things will get better soon.

Anyway, shopping is really tiring! I didn't feel all that productive the rest of the day, even though I got some stuff done. *sigh* Well, since I'm obviously not going to LACMA tomorrow, I've got a big chunk of time just for school. Whoopee.

And Fontaine? This is all hecka messed up! Hecka hecka HECKA! :-p

[11:55 AM]

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOELLE!!!
Noelle shot you.

Hehe. That's Jody's stuff up there. ^_^ Lookie lookie! Totally brand new layout!

(Update: 11/11 Not here, it isn't! Click here. Stooopid html probs!)

Hmm. Just like I said to Jody, there's not as much space for me to ramble and ramble without you scrolling like mad, but that's ok. I'm really honored that someone would actually do something like this for me! Gifts like this don't come everyday you know. ^_^

So thanks, Jody. I really appreciate it! (And my b-day hasn't even come around yet!)

Nitpicks though, sorry! (Besides the space issue! I'll just link my doodles instead of making previews for them) It's eien NO nagi setsu, right? I dunno, it just bothered me a bit, but then again, I'm weird. Also, hmm. it probably wouldn't have turned out as nice, huh? Dang Photoshop. Too bad you can't do Japanese stuff in there... or can you? That would be cool. ^_^

Well, off to do some major grocery shopping with Fontaine. My list is HUGE, and like Fontaine said, 'like a food vocabulary list for a language class.' Really, it is!

Well anyways, peace out!

[Thursday] November 7, 2002

This, is your story. Not mine. So I get to sleep. ^_^TIRED is the word for today. Well, that's pretty much almost everyday lately, *sigh*. So, since I don't have the energy for anything else, it's bloggin' time. ^_^ Besides school, the week's been pretty uneventful, except for the fact that my food supplies are dangerously low, and I had to resort to Spam for dinner! (It's actually not that bad once in a while) I SO need to go shopping this weekend... it all depends if 1.) I have to energy for a trek to and from Ralph's or 2.) I can try and convince someone with a car to take me. :-D So if you have a car and you're free this weekend... take to go food shopping! Seriously! Well, that and I gotta get to LACMA sometime this weekend also. Hopefully my ride'll call in on Sunday to let me know.

Speaking of LACMA, I'm going there to look at sculptures of the Hindu goddess of destruction, Kali. (She's one scary mutha.) Wanna know something cool about her that I learned in class? She's the big thing that the people who rip other people's hearts out in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom worship! We even got to see a clip of that in class, and lo and behold, same image! Coolios. Thing is, that whole movie is a distorted view of India, so I'm not supposed to pay much attention to it. ^_~

Hey Emil! If you ever read this thing, how do you get part of your site to be password protected? Does it involve some complicated html or something? Anyone else is free to answer this question also. :-)

So hmm. Three day weekend. Besides schoolwork, the other stuff I have to do is all jumbled up in my head. So... let's pull a Jody and list out stuff I gotsta do!

1. Teach Fontaine how to play blitzball!

2. Get to a grocery store and buy the whole place out! (Car! I neeeeeed a car!)

3. Play a whole mess of piano so I'll be ready for choir practice Tuesday!

4. Figure out my schedule for next quarter... ack. Trying to fit in MCAT classes kinda sucks.

5. School, school, and more school. It's the same dealio, only now I have two papers due soon. Ouch. I am so waiting for this quarter to be over.

And yeah, did I mention I was TIRED? That kind of thought was what went into that Auron doodle up there. That, or he could be pensive and yet cool-looking at the same time. Who knows? TIRED, TIRED, TIRED. I think I'll go to sleep early tonight. It's not like anything's due tomorrow...

[Sunday] November 3, 2002 (another one)

Ok, quick quiz from Jody... and yay! My favorite character so far! Go check out the webcomic if you've got a chance! It's goood.

Which Saturnalia Character are you?

I dunno. Is it just me, or is it that the more problems you get, the earlier problems don't seem quite as bad at the moment? I dunno. I've gotten this feeling ALOT quite recently. Things just keep piling up, one after the other. One day I'll be able to bust out like Mary J. Blige and celebrate..."NO MORE DRAMA!" :-)

Well, before I sign out, wish me luck on my biochem exam! I know I did already. ^_~

[Sunday] November 3, 2002

If I come here... we might be able to meet. The thought has crossed my mind many times... Yeah, yeah, it's been a while again. (Can't help it.) I've had a whole day if Biochem, and I'm SO not ready yet. Let's hope Sunday studying changes things So.. um. not much to say really. Physics Midterm score was depressing, Psych's was good, I just took an Art History midterm that seemed "eeeeh," and now I gotta bust my butt for chem. (Don't I always?) Actually, chem's my favorite of the sciences that I've studied at college. I dunno, there's just something about it that makes me want to work extra hard for the class. (Mind you, this only started AFTER starting O-chem, so it must be all because of Dr. Luceigh. Awwww. ^_^)

Recent accomplishments? Finally getting that darn Ultima weapon in Kingdom Hearts! And geez. They could've made it look better than something that looks a heck of a lot like a fish skeleton?! Ooook.... I still think Mystery Goo is a real pain to get.

Next thing, I twisted up my ankle! (Hope nothing's broken...) See, what happened was that I was sparring in kung fu with the instructor, and everytime I threw a kick, I got brought down. (ouch.) On one of these throws that kinda spins me before I touch bottom, my left foot got stuck in the mat somewhere, and I knew I heard some sort of "crack!" After that, I just stayed on the ground a while, and stupidly tried talking with a mouth full of mouthpiece till he told me to spit it out. ^_~

My consolation? I didn't have to do the conditioning at the end, and Raul (the teacher-guy) told me I kicked him in the balls at least twice! Hey, it's not MY fault he moves into that position for my foot! Besides, all guys gotta wear cups anyway. Oh, and besides getting twisted this way and that, I got to feel what a bunch of  (light?) headshots feels like. At least I was wearing a mouthpiece so my teeth were ok, but damn. My pride took a good beating with all the shots he got on me. Anyways, I'm off to the Ashe Center Monday! (Now why can't they be open weekends?!)

FFX-2 kick! Check out the movie on gameforms!  Yuna's an action supastar! Twist n' turn and bang! Mhmmmm. It would help if she didn't run so girly swinging her arms around like that, though. Come to think of it, she ran a bit like that in FFX down in the Via Purifico when you had control of her. ONly difference is that she just swung (and ran) to a lesser extent. ^_~ The doodle up there is of Yuna too, if you haven't guessed it already. And, I put up my own translation to the flash opening on the official site up in the description you get when you pass your mouse over the preview. Waaah~ I want a Yuna/Tidus reunion already gosh darnit!

Oh yeah, and Emil, don't feel bad about calling me so late on Halloween. I was having a really tough time getting to sleep anyway, so when you came around calling me, I was pretty much awake. I just *sounded* like I just got up. ^_^ And about your troubles n' stuff? Don't hesitate to talk to me whenever ya feel like it! 'Cause that's what friends are for.

Speaking of getting up, I gotta get up early for church! (I SO should've skipped physics to go to church on Friday...) So before I go off on another tangent, (I need soy sauce, eggs and an ice pack!) I'm gonna wrap up here. (Know what? I worked a teensy bit on my fic!)

Ok. Last thing. (promise!)

Things to look forward to:  A 2 hour Biochem Midterm on Monday, (bad!) a test FREE weekend next week (good!) and Mary coming on the 16th! Whoohoo! Show me some love soul sista!~

[Sunday] October 27, 2002

Hey, even if I am the shortest guy in the game, I'm the STAR! Mwhahaha.Today (and I mean Saturday) was a total "BLAH!" day when it came to studying. Suuure, I finally cleaned up the bangus I got at 99 ranch, and did other kitcheny-stuff, but today really wasn't a day for homework. Heck, I forced myself, but Physics just sucks in general. So... Kingdom Hearts time today! I wanted to get the Ultimate Weapon, but unfortunately, ONE Mystery Goo stands in my way. It sounds nasty, but it is a real item in the game that is really tough to find if you don't know what you're looking for! ARGH. Well, I'll try again once I can afford to waste my time again. ^_^ Here's hoping to (actual) productivity this week! *hopehopehope*

Well, the doodle today is Tidus! Been a while, hmm? I actually had another one too, but what's the point of posting two doodles that are almost alike? Anyhoots, here he is, in a sweatshirt. (Sorry girls, no pecs today ^_~) I noticed something about my style when Jody showed me sketch of Yuna the other day (which by the way was pretty good, yo. ^_^). I think my characters are... how do you say it? Stumpy. Well, that's Jody's word anyway. Maybe I'll work on elongating limbs n' stuff next time. Problem is, there's only enough space in my notebook WITH the notes I take in class. Whoops. Another reason I can think of is that in my mind, Japanese people really aren't that tall! So I try to go for a more realistic viewpoint, I guess. Either that or Rumiko Takahashi's style (Ranma 1/2, Inu Yasha) really really stuck on me.

Oook! Back to Tidus...*swoon* wonder if he'll get a new wardrobe in FFX-2? I've already raided the new website and got a cool Yuna wallpaper  for my desktop. I think I'm already catchin' on to her new style. I like it, but I don't think I'd ever wear it. ^_~ And speaking of FFX, ok, I'll take the quiz! *peer pressure!* Hey, Fontaine! Mind if I link you over in my uh... links? Yeah. Here we go!

Favourite Character: Yuna! (isn't it obvious?)
(runner up: Tidus!)

Favourite 'Ultimate' Monster: Um. If you mean the monster arena, they kick my butt every time!

Favourite Weapon: Masamune! It's just so... cool lookin'!

Favourite Limit: Blitz Ace. Because Yuna throws Tidus the ball in my game. ^_^

Favourite Area(s): Macalania because of the you-know-what-scene (look at my sidebar! sheesh). And Besaid, because islands in general are just really really pretty.

Favourite Boss: Jecht. He was a challenge, but not overly annoying at the same time. Plus, you're fighting the main character's FATHER! How climactic can you get?!
(least favorite: I'll have to agree with Fontaine on Evrae, but my LEAST favorite has to go to Seymour's 3rd form at Mt. Gagazet. I SO despised him and his "Annihilation" attack.)

Favourite Airship: Besides FFX (I luv everything about this game) it's gotta be the Highwind from FF7. Come on, Chocobos IN your ship? How cute! (That and constantly airsick Yuffie and Cloud for laughs)

Favourite Magic System: FFX's magic system grew on me. No confusing junctioning (ugh...FF8) or materia combinations (FF7).

Favourite World: Spira is my favorite world. Add machina, (like in FFX-2!) and I'd want to LIVE there.

Favourite FMV: By far... the Macalania scene! (I'm such a fangirl.) Next would have to be the ending FMV.

Favourite Non Playable Character: Luzzu. I don't know why, just cause. ^_^

Favourite Music: Zanarkand, especially after all the revelations! (Did I ever tell you that when a FFX BGM comes on in my MD I actually feel like I'm in the game? Really!)

Favourite Enemy: Tonberry. Just cause they're a mainstay of the series.

Favourite Game in Series: FFX. What else?

Favourite Summon: Anima kicked much butt for me, so she's my fav.
Favourite Magic: Ultima. Hey, when Yuna casts it, she kicks more butt than with Holy! (If you've got more than one enemy out there anyway.)

Favourite mini-game:
Blitzball. I swear, I want to get that ball from Japan, go in a pool, and try it!

Whoa. Ultra long entry again, and hope you don't think I'm weird after reading my answers on this thing. (If you thought I was weird already, well...) To cut down on this stuff, I'm still thinking of joining livejournal, but I'm sooo lazy to switch, since I'm so used to doing it this way. Plus, I'd have no idea of what avatar to use! *worryworry* Jody! I need Photoshop!

That is all. ^_^

[Thursday] October 24, 2002

Ok! Let's start out with a quiz....

Take the NOIR Character Quiz @ Taikoubou.net

Ok, I admit that I was probably leaning toward getting Kirika in my quiz answers (since a lot of the options were REALLY obvious...) but surprisingly, besides being the main enigma of the series, she's the most "normal." Yeah, yeah, "Contradiction!" you say, but I can't be Mirelle if I'm not all fashionable and sophisticated! ^_^ That image up there sure is pretty lookin' too.

Alright, as promised: Noir impressions! Very good series overall, I always always wanted to watch the next episode after finishing! The whole assassin thing went over really well with me. On one hand, they look really cool doing their jobs, but on the other hand, killing people on a daily basis would mean that a.) whoo. psychological problems... b.) something to do with the past and c.) lots of reflections and sometimes remorse. Maybe that's why I liked it so much: Noir is complex. Nothing is clear cut like you think it is, since in essence the whole series is based on a big conspiracy.

Another thing I liked about the series: duality. Mirelle and Kirika complement each other so well that when Chloe came into the picture and fought alongside Kirika for one episode, it just seemed... wrong. Mirelle and Kirika are two sides of the same coin, polar opposites in some ways, and alike in others. Perhaps that's why both of them are just really really likeable characters.

Lastly, the whole yuri issue. Sure, this is a series populated mostly by women, (who just happen to be assassins) but I saw the bond between Mirelle and Kirika as one of a deep friendship that formed over the course of the series. Of course, rabid fans always want to take that friendship one step further. Similar to the reasons behind yaoi pairings, yuri pairings just don't make sense to me sometimes. Just because you've got two favorite characters doesn't mean you have to pair them up out of the blue! I mean, some pairings are interesting, but most just don't make sense. This is the reason why I was talking about putting a lead male character somewhere in the series (or maybe in an OVA?) to offset the yuri fandom just a bit. ^_^

Hopefully I won't have to go to Mt. Gagazet dressed in this!Wah! Doodle! I don't know what it is, but despite Yuna's apparent lack of clothing in the upcoming FFX-2, I am SO looking forward to playing it. Here's my thing: It's Yuna! You can't ruin that. So mix Yuna and the Kickass image together and this is what you get! The addition of the Zanarkand Abes symbol as part of her wardrobe was a very nice touch by Mr. Nomura. Now here's hoping for a mind-blowing reunion scene with Tidus! Any less than jaw dropping won't cut it. ^_^ (Heck, that's how I reacted my first time seeing the Macalania scene!)

From recent screenshots that seem to be circulating all over the net (try rpggamer.com, for instance) Rikku seems to be wearing even LESS than Yuna! (And I didn't think it was possible!) Guess ya gotta blame it on that Al Bhed fashion sense. How else do you explain the way Brother (yes, that's his name) is dressed?! Or even worse, NAIDA! (She's the Al Bhed shopkeep in the Calm Lands) I mean, geez. A purple bra and underwear with leather looking leg covering thingys, (think cowboys?) complete with Al Bhed goggles and a shaved blond head. The only other design I have a problem with is Tatts (the guy who doesn't remember anything in Kilika). His pants go down so LOW at the belt it's a little...ehh. So in comparison, (yes, there is a point to all this rambling) Yuna's outfit isn't all that bad!  And much like Tidus' outfit with the uneven pants leg lengths, I'm sure I'll eventually get used to it, and even like it! Heck, I'm already doodling it, so it's all good. ^_^

She's on a rampage! RWAR! GRrrrr. Think King Kong, but on a slightly smaller scale.  I dunno, it's the best I could think of at the moment! ^_~

Ok, lots of randomness, I know. Hopefully I'll get to post again soon with something with less tangents and a bit shorter than all this. (Haha, yeah right. ^_^)

[Monday] October 21, 2002

Sorry, but this is who I am...

Happy B-day Carlo! (on the 19th) BIG 21! I'm surprised you didn't go out and get drunk on Saturday! Would've made The Ring a whole lot freakier! Hehehe. Well hey. This blogging thing is getting sporadic again, which means... WAAH! Midterms! Yup. That's what I'm doing amongst my hectic schedule. Next quarter I'll make it SO nice I won't even notice I'm going to school! Well... maybe not to that extent, but that's the idea. ^_^

I eat lots of food, and work it all off too! (That's what Noelle's trying to do with kung fu) Hey! That rhymes! ^_^Well, about Saturday, it was soooo cool. I got to go to 99 Ranch! (Or Ranch 99, I really don't know the right way to say it) But hey! Asian food! REAL food. FILIPINO FOOD! Too bad they didn't carry Tinapa. That would make my day. Had some lunch at this Japanese restaurant with Jody and Carlo, but it's really not... Japanese. I mean, would a real Japanese restaurant put Kenshin prints up on it's walls? (Along with some other anime looking stuff too) Hey, at least the food was good. ^_^ More about food, I got to try out the Chinese equivalent of Halo-halo! Wow. It might become a new addiction, since a.) I probably have a place that sells it back home b.) it's waaay healthier than Halo-halo ( it's got less stuff) and c.) Jody can be cool and order it in Chinese for me! Oh, and before I forget,  there was this weird conversation we had while we were in the market about some Hello Panda snack thingys about what color chocolate should be. (It's not RED, and it's not Poo colored either? Ooook... ^_~)

Who am I? What am I doing? And what's this green gooey stuff?! (Aeris: It's Lifestream you idiot!)Continuing with Saturday (it was buuuusy! but a good kind) I went and cooked up Sinigang for Carlo, Jody, and Fontaine. I mean, I thought it was a safe dish to try out on people who haven't tried Filipino food yet, but what's really good to me (really sour soup) isn't that great for everyone else. Whoops. I was thinking that maybe next time someone asks me to cook something for them, I'll go along with the tried and true Adobo. Simple, and tasty too! Especially with boiled eggs. Yum.

After the marathon dinner, we all went out to see The Ring! Whoo. Spooky movie. I really wasn't all that freaked (not as much as Jody...) but I did jump a few times and saw "ewww..." during the especially gross parts. It had a really interesting plot, and the whole "visual storytelling" of it all was really really cool, because now that I think about it, the characters themselves didn't talk all that much. And even though I'm not one to be easily spooked, I was a little scared of the TV (or going near the VCR) when I came home to an empty house that evening. ^_~

Oh yeah. Doodles! Some of these go as far as... 2 weeks ago? I'm not even sure. Up there's Kirika again, I swear, she's so cool. But don't push any of that yuri fandom on me! Sure, Noir has no main characters who happen to be male... though now that it's over (yup, I watched the whole thing), I kind of wish there were. Oh well. I'll rant more about Noir in my next post. Next is Sano, who kinda got a bad scan. Whoops. Last, is Cloud! His FF7 self! He was a little more of a weakling in that game, but  we all still luv him. ^_^ (Especially since he got so kick-ass in Kingdom Hearts!) Plus, someone as cool as Tifa liking him means he can't be all that bad, ya?

Well, today (Sunday) wasn't near as eventful. Homework, tests, and more...stuff. Hopefully this quarter will go by fast... I want more free time again! Well, *sigh* till next time.

Hey, and Jody? SEVEN DAYS. Heehee. ^_^

[Sunday] October 13, 2002

I'm always bad with birthdays, (especially with my family! oops.) so a BIG sorry to my cool as heck cousin Elyssa, whose b-day was yesterday. Happy 14th! I'm sure you're enjoying yourself... wherever you are.

I just had to look at my watch to remember today's date. October 13, 2002. It's been a year since I last saw her in her little casket, with the lid open, the church service where they sang "Tanging Yaman," and then the final lowering into the ground at the cemetery. I threw a rose for her that day. And I was so glad I could be there with family and friends. We all support each other, you know? Too bad I can't be there now, the phone's been ringing today, telling me of celebrations for the anniversary. I think it's nice, that things like this have been turned into happy occasions for my family.

I know I took my time with her for granted, so now, with each moment I get with my family, I make sure to enjoy my time with them to the fullest. (Notice how I've been spending lots and lots of time with ya on vacation, huh Eileen and EJ? ^_~) Because somehow, just being there makes all the difference.  Because when Elyssa was with us, just her presence in the room made everyone smile.

You know Elyssa? You looked really good in capris. ^_^

[Saturday] October 12, 2002

Can anyone tell me why covering up your mouth with something makes you like, a THOUSAND times cooler? People never thought I was this cool way back when in FF7! *sniff* [cries] It's scary sometimes you know, those brief lapses of time when suddenly, you look into a mirror and don't recognize yourself. Or when you realize this life is finite; or that you're just a soul trapped within the confines of this body you call "self." I don't know,  I have feelings like this every now and then (about as often as deja vu, which really isn't that often at all). Maybe it's because of the fact that I'm studying about India's religions in my Art History class. Heck. The idea of reincarnation and karma sure make a lot of sense the way my mind's been working lately.

Gunslinger Yuna, here! Prepare to go out in style! Well, on to happier stuff. :-) (yay.) Went out with Jody to 3rd St. this Friday, and whoa! People were like extremely nice this time around! It all started wtih the Yomiko Readman (from 'Read or Die') cosplayer at Mandarake. After getting the Chii plastic ears on and the plastic hair thingys (which escape me since I don't remember them from the 4 eps I've seen of Chobits) I got a Polaroid up on their Wall of Fame! So next time you walk in there, check out my pic. Diana (the cosplayer) and Jody said I was pretty darn cute. Haha. I guess. I just remembered I was way embarrassed through the whole thing. :-) Afterwards, Karaoke in the store! Dang. I love Dream's "My Will," but I can SO sing it better when: I'm by myself, no one's in the room, and no one can hear me. :-D

Who ever thought this silly thing would make anyone cool? I mean; I just wanted to stop those darn bugs from flying in my mouth! After a long stay at Mandarake, we went off to French Connection (getting stopped by some LaRouche guy on the way...ugh.) where a cool guy named Jeff talked with us, helped us out lots, and was funny to boot! Hey, he was obviously gay, but those guys are the most fun to talk with, I think. Next, was off to the Puma store, where a really dedicated worker danced around us and lip-synched to Mario's song. (You know, the "but you say I'm just a friend" song) When more people came into the store, he proceeded to rap out "Puma song" about Puma shoes. It came out really well too! We all clapped for him after that. :-)

But heck. Lemme take a moment to say something: Jody's so darn cool, she can whip out the Japanese way fast, blow off a LaRouche guy when she wants to, and get all the cool people talking! Man. If only I wasn't so much of an introvert around people I don't know so well. *Sigh* Gotta brush up on them social skills, ya?

My Friday finished up with a bout of FFX playing with Fontaine. Man. Playing Blitzball is hard when: 1.) You have to start from scratch at lvl 1, and 2.) when you're so tired you're about to pass out. Hehe. I won a game against the Ronsos, so hey! I guess I was doing pretty darn good. Since I love the game so darn much, I guess I'll build up her blitzball team some more, just cause. :-)

More busy-ness coming up this week, as usual. Gotta learn a new piano thingy for church, (hopefully I can do it!) and you guessed it; a whole mess o' school.

Wondering about the doodles up there? It's an all Final Fantasy update! Yeah! Anyhoots, up there from top to bottom is Cloud, (ala Kingdom Hearts) Yuna, (what I imagine the front of her hotpants-ed self would look like in the sequels) and Auron. Well, just his back anyway. Physics gives me such a wealth of doodling time, it's unbelievable. Hope the prof. makes sense by the time the midterm comes around, sheesh.

Well, my "resting day" is quickly coming to a close. Besides trying to get less introverted around people, I want to also try to be more firm in my beliefs and perceptions. I've found that I become so easily swayed by other's opinions and points of view that somehow, I become someone unlike myself. Maybe that's why I'm feeling all "out of body" lately.

Well, here's to self-improvement! :-)

[Monday] October 7, 2002

Anta o korosu!watashi wa Noir...sore dake shiteiru.Another big long sorta gap for this supposedly daily thing, huh? Well, heads up! This is gonna be one of those thoughtful sorta entries. It helps to get thoughts out of the open sometimes, instead of holding them all in. If I had a *real* diary, it would be chock full of this stuff. ;-) But alas, I could never ever write in one! I'm way too attached to the computer as it is. Besides, it's easier to type, I think. Oh, before I get too rambly, let me explain my doodles here. It's Kirika and Mirelle from Noir, one of the coolest anime I've watched in a veeery long time. Two women that kick ass all by themselves, shooting down oodles and oodles of men in suits every episode with "Dona Nobis Pacem" echoing in the back ground with a techno beat! It's an angsty, non happy kind of series, but it does it SO well, I'm loving every moment.

So... today's topic? BOYFRIENDS! Haha. I know I've been through this before, but I don't know. Looking back on my past grumblings about not having one, I realize I was just being plain silly about it. "Why?" you say? Get ready, cause here it comes!

Boyfriends: Me and them? We just don't mix.

There's something I just realized. Boyfriends are a big bother for anyone other than the (surprise!) girlfriend. There's just something about "paying attention to each other" so much that everyone else who happens to come along just seems to get left out. I mean, geez. I've had enough of that in my childhood, and I certainly don't want anyone else going though that either. So heck, I'm going to wait until I figure out the secret of being with someone and somehow, not change from how I am now to other people. Maybe that's why I get scared of the day that my all old high school buddies will get significant others. It just sucks to be forgotten, to put it in Noelle-ish terms. :-)

I think I'll be going with Japanese custom on PDA's. Like the boyfriends that come with them, they are also a big bother (obviously!) for people not *ahem* ...doing them. So keep it hidden! Where people can't see you! So other people don't have to make an effort not to go "ewww..." right in front of you! Haha. Nice in anime/video games/ TV, but not in public. Put yourself in the single person's shoes and you'll understand.

So with all this aversion to boyfriends, I have decided: I don't want one. Well, at least not for now, anyway. It's a deciding time with MCAT's and Med School around the corner, and plus, I'm away from home; no guarantee with long distance stuff, know what I mean? Plus, it's nice to be independent. Nothing to tie me down, and I do what I want, when I want, and how I want! (helps that my parent's aren't around LA either ^_~) But my biggest reason for not wanting one at the moment is the reason I've been ranting about this whole time! Boyfriends just don't mix well with ... other people. (Unless you've got the' skillz...) Sounds a bit weird, but it makes a whole lot of sense to me. And I like other people a lot! :-)

********

So, what's up with me lately besides boyfriend ranting? Well, I've decided to play piano for the church. It's going to be tough, no doubt about that. I have to get the skill to learn songs super fast in a week or under. Now that's HARD! You're talking about a girl who learns songs in 3 weeks to a month! So, all I can do now is push myself like how my mom did back in the days when I took lessons for classical piano. ^_~ Classes have been alright I guess, but I get the feeling this quarter is going to be quite difficult also. Let's hope I'm wrong. No time for fanfiction and fanart, but here's something I drew in the airport way back when 2 weeks ago. Dunno if I want to ink and color, it seems lacking. Plus, I have NO idea where I'd find the time!

*Sigh* If only I could go back to a simpler time... (like high school!) At least Kung Fu starts tomorr--today! Whoa... it's about my bedtime. I'll be writing here again not tomorrow. It's the only promise I can make. ^_^

[Saturday] September 28, 2002

Hiya! I know it's been a while, school kinda got in the way starting about.... Thursday. ;-)

I don't think I'm gonna do hospital volunteering this quarter, especially with me taking 19 units this time around... ouch.

So, without delay, here are some Kingdom Hearts impressions! (Now I'm trying to get that extra special ending thingy)

- Donald and Goofy! Man, I swear these guys are my best friends now. This game'll make me look at those two in a different light now. Man, Donald. Gotta love his temper.

- Mickey Mouse! (If you've seen the ending) Who woulda known?!

- Winnie the Pooh and his friends. Ok, if you've played the game, you have to help Pooh out with a few things, including helping him find his friends. On one occasion, after getting him to stop following his own footsteps that is. Um. For some reason,  I got the impression that Pooh Bear was, how do you say it, slow. I know he's supposed to be a silly ol' bear, but sometimes it got to be a little too much for me. His friends seemed to share in his small intellectual capacity at times too. I mean... guys! You're not supposed to set a bad example for kids! Goodness. If I ever see a kid acting like a delusional Pooh, I don't know what I would do.

- Random Battles = still bad. This game has a different kind of battle system, but no matter how you look at it, constant random battles still just really really suck. Hey, if they want me to hate the Heartless, they got it!

- The Final Fantasy Characters! It's cool that some of 'em got a makeover and everything, but what I'm disappointed about are a few things: 1.) Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie. You see them at the beginning of the game, and poof! They're gone after that! *sniff* 2.) Cloud's story. You see ONE glimpse of it, and that's it. I mean, geez. He's the man of mystery and all, and they showed ONE clip of him and Aerith in the credits (should be Tifa! Tiiiiifa!) and that's it! And he looked the coolest too. (aside from Squall... yum. ^_^) 3.) That and Yuffie is wearing waay too little in this game. And Tifa haters thought she was bad. I guess Yuffie escapes the controversy because she's... how do say this? Flat. ;-) Aaand... last one. (promise!) 4.) Lance Bass as Sephiroth. They coulda at least had him TALK! He just kinda goes "take that." "uh." And other fighting sounds. Oh well. Never was obsessed over Sephiroth like some other people were (and are). But it still sucks with him being in the game with a big name voice actor and not even getting a line. ONE line. Is it too much to ask?

- The ending is AWESOME. No qualms about that. It's leaning towards "sequel!" in my head. Kinda like FFX did, but to a slightly lesser degree. :-) The last boss is quite a pain though. "Come open your heart!" Open THIS you @#&*$!

*Ahem* Kingdom Hearts aside, I finally got to see a flash of Rex Navarette's SBC Packers routine! Filipino accents make for the funniest jokes, I swear. PACK THAT SHEET! Hehe. You'll get it if you watch it. Click here if you're interested, and scroll down to the bottom there to get it. If you've got time, Maritess vs. The Superfriends is pretty good too.

That's it for this long post. Saw Sweet Home Alabama today too. Cute and sweet, and not too much to rant on. ^_^ But Physics... hmm. I guess I'll postpone it for another day.

Accomplishment! Take that! And I could've rented too! But I love it too much to just do that though. So now you're probably thinking, what the heck is she talking about? Okay, I'll tell ya!

I BEAT KINGDOM HEARTS!!!

Took me a whole six days too! The exact time on the clock escapes me at the moment. More thoughts on the game after I do some errands n' stuff. ^_^

[Friday] September 20, 2002

Damn! Friday already? Whoooa. The days go way too fast while I'm on vacation, and way too slow otherwise! So hey! Here we go with another rant on Kingdom Hearts!

One name: Cloud Strife! I finally met him! And boy, is he one bad mutha. Like most of the other voices in the game, his is done superbly. (well... on the other hand, Hercules was obviously not the original guy...) Unlike Squall, Cloud's voice isn't total "tough guy," but has that underlying weakness he was famous for all the way back in FF7. You can just tell. He's got feelings too! *awww...* Weird coincidence though, Sora and Cloud's hair look oddly similiar...

And what's up with Sora's clothes?! I mean, take off that jacket and he's wearing a red jumpsuit! Looks a tad bit strange if you ask me. At least Donald and Goofy's wardrobes look a bit more "hip" with all the zippers all over the place.

And Waaah! Along with the island goes Tidus, Wakka and Selphie! And NO, the imitation Tidus in Traverse Town doesn't make up for it!

Current progress: Done with Agrabah, and off into the belly of the beast! (otherwise known as Monstro, the whale from Pinocchio)

Wah. Maybe it's best I got over this cold first. *sniffle* I slept for practically half the day. :-(

Oh! Right! Fanfiction! Ehh.... tomorrow. Maybe. ;-)

~Noelle's reflection faded at 1:55 AM~

Wait wait! Here's some more ranting... (non Kingdom Hearts, don't worry.) ^_^

You know those cam girls? Or the ones that want you to go to porno sites? Well, they've been bothering me a lot lately over AIM, with ultra creative names such as say...Tammi21389. Well, instead of making it an annoyance like it should be, I've got a new hobby! Instead of just closing the box, I WARN! Warn warn warn. All the way to 100% in most cases. Pretty fun to see 'em booted off, and then.. they change their name to say... Tammi76883. Yeah. Same girls, just a different number. You should see me laugh when I warn 'em too. (ask Jen)

I've been thinking of changing my screen name to get rid of the girls, but I don't know what to change it to! Last time I tried, it was too weird for me to go by a different name. ^_~ Plus, I'd be out of one fun thing to do while I'm surfin' the net! (SARCASM, ok?) :-)

[Thursday] September 18, 2002

Today (and I mean Wednesday...) went by really fast! It started out with me going with Mary to school and sitting in on some classes. Biochem seemed to suck a LOT. (pka's, Henderson Hasselbach and Gibbs Free Energy come back with a VENGEANCE!) Man. Too bad I gotta take that this coming quarter. *sigh* The anatomy class was cool as heck though. Makes me want to take the class sometime at UCLA. I mean, now I know how guys get a hernia! And, that the biceps are responsible for rotating your arm around (think carrying grocery bags) and that connective tissue, when in large amounts, has a super fancy name (it escapes me at the moment). It was kinda cool blending in with all the Cal students, it's like I'm a native and I'm not at the same time. And yeah Mary, just like old times. ^_^

The rest of the day, besides for a killer bowl of pho for lunch, (mm..mm...GOOD!) zooooomed past with, (you guessed it) KINGDOM HEARTS! Hehe. I'm already about 5 hours into the game, and currently in the deep jungle with Tarzan after I seemed to lose track of Alice in Wonderland. Yup. It's one interesting game! It's still kind of weird trying to get to like Disney characters again after such a long time, because what really attracted me to the game in the first place were all the cool Final Fantasy people coming together in such an unorthodox way.  And HAH! Listen to Wakka say Tidus' name! The pronunciation REVEALED! It's Tee-duss. Not Tye-dus; Tee-duss! Mwahaha! See? I was right for following Japanese pronunciation! :-D And gosh, FFX kids! So cute. Waaaaa.... And Squall's a hottie. Did I mention that? ;-)

Also, just checking out the instruction manual, I found out that Lance Bass does the voice of Sephiroth! Whoa... that's gonna be real interesting. Mandy Moore does a surprisingly good job with Aerith (not Aeris!) it's what I always imagined her to sound like! And Squall's (David Boreanaz) tough guy voice is pretty convincing too. Sora's voice seems to be right on target. I think it really fits him.

Last thing about Kingdom Hearts before I hit the hay... Utada Hikaru's "Simple and Clean." Boy, was I surprised when the opening FMV featured the Planit-B Remix version (or whatever you call it) of it! Funny thing is, I keep thinking of the lyrics to "Hikari" instead of actually listening to what's there. Hopefully, I'll get used to it. Heck, it took me a while to even like "Hikari" at first.

No, I didn't get to use my $5 off coupon... I'll save it for my birthday. Something new is gonna come out by then, right? ...right? Like I told my dad, I have to play my brains out before I need to use it! Thus, my whole obsession with getting the game early. ^_^

Ooow. Headache. I guess that's what I get for "marathoning" my video game playing. ;-) Tomorrow... fanfiction writing! At least a little bit! Anyone who wants to remind me? IM me! It doesn't matter if I'm doing something else! Like... Kingdom Hearts...

[Tuesday] September 17, 2002

The wonderful wonderful thing about Blitzballs is that you can bop people on the head with them! ^_^Kingdom Hearts was supposed to come TODAY! TODAY, gosh darnit! *sniff* Everywhere but Best Buy (who I just happen to have a coupon with...) said it comes out tomorrow, AFTER I make all my attempts to get it early! Dang. What's the world coming to? Look it up on gaming websites. Sept. 17! Kingdom Hearts! Yeah, uh huh. Well, at least I'll have my mom try to get Electronics Boutique to beat Best Buy's price so I can get the game early (BEFORE Best Buy's release date of 9/21, thank you very much). She's really good at convincing people she's right. (I've seen her work magic with CARS!) What an awesome skill to have.

Oh, and look! Up in the last paragraph! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's.... fanart! Yay! Well, Tidus and Yuna, just a thing I did on a whim two weekends ago. I really should get more colored artwork of those two, they're fun to draw. :-) And... just like everything else I do, I'll improve with practice. I gotta get DOWN with my artistic self! And yeah. I started a little bit on fanfiction too. Well, like 3 paragraphs of it. It's a start, isn't it?

"Thing to make fun of" of the day: Those high pitched (chipmunk sounding) girls singing in rap songs! Think:

Boy! Oh boy!

or ... I get high high high... High off your Memory! Hiiiiigh...

Hehe. At least they're fun to sing in the car. With other people of course.

(Whoo. Close! Missed tomorrow by a minute!)

Looking for the old stuff? Click here!

If you've been following closely, yup, I'm at home, and yup, my computer seems to be working ok (for now). When I get back to LA, I'll install a fresh new copy of Frontpage so I can do this kind of stuff there. :-)  But for now, REST!

In the time when I couldn't blog, I remember having a lot of things to rant about, but heck. I'm too relaxed to remember all that stress. So yeah. Just forget it. I *did* have a bunch of doodles and one Tidus and Yuna fanart from that week though. The doodles, eh. It's not like you're missing anything by not seeing them, but the fanart! It looks so much better in person, but I'll post it up once I get access to the zip drive on the computer downstairs. ^_^ Now, for fanart purposes, it would be SO nice if someone could teach me one on one just HOW to color using Photoshop! I think I have the penciling skills... now I just need to learn to be an awesome colorist.

Some afterthoughts on summer school: Genetics sucked, and English was surprisingly enjoyable. But then again, anything non-sciency I usually enjoy. ;-) I guess I've had too much of it already or something...

Notice the date? I do! Tomorrow is when Kingdom Hearts comes out! YAY! I'm gonna get up early, and armed with my $5 off coupon, go to Best Buy and BUY IT! And play and play and play till I get too sleepy to play anymore! (That's exactly how it was with FFX) Somehow I gotta fit fanfiction into my schedule though, I've been putting it off... again.

And Jody, the reason my fic is mostly WAFF is because I'm such a fan of the couple, and that's the kind of stuff you wanna see after seeing the ending, you know? And the franticness or lack of a cohesive plotline is because I really am making this up as I go. Next time, I might go for a shorter project where I formulate the story beginning to end beforehand. Knowing the end to your own story is definitely a plus. And that's something I don't have at the moment. Whoops. But thanks again for your input, just think, every comment makes me into a better writer! Wow.

Last thing. Two things I wanna get! Click here and here. I dunno. I just had a sudden rush of wanting Filipino themed shirts! And about the packers shirt.... ugly color, but funny as heck. I'm still thinking about that one. Say it with a Filipino accent (or have someone Filipino say it to you) for the full effect. :-)

That's it! More things to come from my vacation time in the Bay Area (GO GIANTS! GO A's!!!!) soon. :-)
