Flames Care Group, formed in year 2000, is a cell group under the umbrella of Christ Lutheran Church(CLC), Kuala Lumpur. The pioneers are basically campus youth around Setapak area, attending CLC, gather together to seek God, study His word and fellowship. As most of them are from outstation, thus, meeting friends is such an enjoyable and exciting activity for this group. The members are mainly from Tunku Abdul Rahman College, UniTAR, UTM, Jln Semarak, ICom, LKW University, KDU, IMU, and others higher Institution in Klang Valley.
The first group who gather, named Campus Youth Care Group, cocnsists of Tiffany Tan, Hanry Chan, Esther James, Grace Cho, Joseph Chua, Jane Ong, Desmond Wong, Julie Peters, Adeline Peters, Wong Mei yee; and was supervised by Ps.Eric Tan from CLC itself. It was later being absorbed into CLC Adult Zone and supervised by Terrence, mentored by Amos Yap, also helped by Sharon Leong as a mentor in 2002 & 2003, and now, supervised by CLC English Congregation Co-ordinating Pastor, Ps. CL Ong.
Flames is the name given in 2003, as a result of we, want to be the light and giving heat to warm the campus youth's life in a new environment. And our vision to provide care and concern to all our members never cease, by the grace of God, we are still active and most of us are serving in CLC. We hope to share our vision and mission to more campus youth in the years to come.
As we blessed by God, we also want to bless other. We always believe in to give is more blessing that to receive.
Flames will continue to serve Him in all we could, at least we care, and we would like to be the witness to the world. Learning that God is a faithfull God, we want to be faithfull to this ministry and bring Glory to him by living a lifestyle that will shine and preach the gospel to all we know, be it our college mate, house mate, room mate or even bring the lifestyle back home to share it with our family.
At the moment, our regular attendants are:
Hanry(CG Leader), Philip(Interim CGL), Grace Cho, Joyce Ong, Amy See, Pamela Loh, Joseph Chua, Nathaneal Gan, Jonathan Loh, Amy Loh, Liza Woon, Julie Peters, Joy Ong, and of course our lovely brother David Tan Zi Xiang who left for Gambang, Pahang to further his study.
