EFFECT: You bring out a normal deck of cards. You can fan through them, shuffle them, or even have the audience inspect them. You tell them that this deck is very magical and with that, you flip the top card so it is seen. The audience gets really curious and you simple pick the cards up about 2 inches off the deck and with a swift move, the card changes instantly to another card.
ITEMS NEEDED FOR TRICK: A normal deck of cards.
SECRET SETUP AND PREFORMANCE: There is absolutley no set-up needed in this trick. This is not an extremely easy trick, but comes to you after practice. After the inspection or after you are done shuffling, take the top card and flip it over to show the audience. You put the card back on the top of the deck as you keep talking. Then, here's the tricky part, you do a double lift so there are two cards. You hold the cards about 2 inches off of the rest. Your hand holding the deck is in the dealing posistion, that hand grips the top left and bottom right of the card (this is if you are holding the deck in your left hand) with the thumb and third or fourth finger. The other hand holds the card on the other two edges. You take your right hand and pull up on the card, as this happens, the card indents a little because the left hand is still holding on. Then pull until, the cards is released, the two cards flip over faster than the eye can see and the card looks as if it changed. Here's a tip: After you flip the cards, rotate your whole arm around counter-clockwise, this will make the cards look as if they did not flip. And don't put the cards back on the deck yet, drop the bottom card on the deck and immediatley hand the "magic" card out for inspection.
