How to Perform the "Crisscross Force"
Sometimes, you need your participants to "choose" a card, however they will pick the card of your choosing! It's so simple, you will be surprised at its effectiveness!
Difficulty Level: Easy      Time Required: Less than two minutes.     -------------------------------------------------Here's How:
Shuffle the cards.  As you place them on the table face down, glimpse the bottom card. Memorize it. Ask the participant to cut the pack in half and to place the top half onto the table face down. Next, you take the remaining (bottom) half of the pack and lay it crisscross (at a 90-degree angle) over the other (top) half. You need to stall now. Do this by calling attention to something (a piece of paper, a pen -- whatever.)  Tell the participant to lift up the top half of the pack and to look at and remember the bottom card of that half.  Ask him to replace the cards onto the pack and to shuffle them.   Tips:  Step #5 is essential. Just break their attention as this is the key to this working. After they shuffle the cards, you might want to re-cap what has happened, but change a few "details". "You freely cut the cards. You then looked at a card and replaced the cut. Then you shuffled the pack...."
