The After

A thousand miles away
Blinded by face and desire
I rest my heart
Waiting
For a prayer
Begging only you
Killing yourself
Soiling the pure remembrance
Excuses, and pains
Remain the silent plea for help
Thick
Burning a hole through my dream
The fire of myself
And love
Kindness
Compassion
Respect
Invisible soldiers
Smiling and laughing
With such energy and youth
There tears
Choking on the thick green smoke
Fall to the ash-laden mire
Dead
As the after
That killed us all
