Xander talks to Oz about being cool. Later Xander gets himself a car from his uncle. Buffy and Willow doesn't tell Xander about the hellmouth opening when they see him. Xander goes and gets donuts for the gang and meets a girl who wants to go for a ride. They go to the Bronze where Xander rear-ends a car Jack was in He threatens Xander with a knife while the girl doesn't care and is bored. A cop shows up and Xander covers for them. Xander, Jack, and the girl leave to get Jack's friends. They go to a graveyard where they discover his friends are dead. Then the girl runs.
In the Library, Buffy, Giles, and Willow are researching while the werewolf Oz is freaking out in his cave. Willow seems to think that it is because he senses trouble. Giles leaves to contact spirits and try to have them help them defeat the Sisterhood of Jhe, who plans on opening the hellmouth.
Xander has a new duty of driving Jack and his dead buddies around town. They stop at a hardware store to get supplies for a bomb. Xander spots Willow leaving the Magic Box and Xander goes and talks to her. She tells him that she loves him. She leaves, and Jack and his guys decide to kill Xander so he could be part of their gang. He manages to escape in his car, and runs into Faith fighting a demon. He picks her up and they go to her place. He sleeps with her and she then kicks him out.
Xander discovers they are trying to build a bomb, and looks for Buffy for help. He runs across her and Angel in Angel's Mansion and they have a heated discussion and Xander leaves. Willow moves Oz after he escapes to a different part of the school. The dead guys finish setting up the bomb in the boiler room, and leave. Xander encounters the gang on the street. He picks one up and finds out from him that the bomb is in Sunnydale High before his head is torn off by a mailbox. He runs in the school unaware that the Buffy, Faith, and the rest of the gang are fighting demons from the hellmouth. Xander manages to kill the zombies with a little help from a few demons and encounters Jack in the boiler room. Xander dares him to let it explode and end his days as a zombie. He disarms it, and Xander leaves. Jack opens a door in the boiler room ready to leave when Oz jumps out and eats him.
The next morning the gang look back while Oz tries to figure out why he is so full while Cordy makes fun of Xander, and he discovers he's a better person.

At one point in the bomb scene the timer is set at 11 seconds. 2 beeps later( one beep for each second) it has 12 seconds left. Then when it should explode it is at 4 seconds.
A boom mic is visable in the library when Giles is speaking.

Scenes from 'Never Kill A Boy on the First Date' and 'I Only Have Eyes For You' were used again in this episode.
