The next day the gang (except Giles) is at the beach when it starts to rain heavily. Later that night, it is still raining, and two movers are unloading crates from a truck in front of a castle. Suddenly a hand smashes through the crate and kills the movers.
Willow scans books into her laptop at Giles's house, when Giles tells her since he is no longer Buffy's watcher, he's leaving. He asks her to keep it a secret, until he tells her himself. Buffy heads out on patrol, and after she stakes a vampire, a smoke cloud appears and it forms into Dracula, and introduces himself.
Buffy talks with the vampire and tries to stake him, but he keeps disappearing. Willow and Xander show up and Dracula appears behind them. Dracula turns himself into a bat and flies towards them, and then flies off into the night. At Giles's, Willow and Buffy keep talking about how he is so attractive, and Riley and Xander gets jealous. Willow tries to attract attention to Giles, but they don't seem to notice.
Anya tells Xander that she knew Dracula and they were friends, and Xander gets even more jealous when Xander runs into the vampire. Dracula lures Xander into bringing him the Slayer. Meanwhile Riley goes and tries to get information out of Spike. Spike was rivals with Dracula until he became famous. He warns that Riley can't take him on himself.
Buffy is asleep in her room while smoke goes throw the open window. Buffy sees Dracula, and lets him bite her. The next morning Buffy hides the mark on her neck with a scarf.
The next morning Xander finds himself eating spiders and bugs. They talk about how to get Dracula, when Buffy leaves. Riley rushes after her and takes off the scarf, revealing the wound. They are shocked. Xander, Buffy, and Anya go to Xander's place while Tara and Willow work magic on the Summer's house. Giles and Riley leaves to go after Dracula, and discover a castle in Sunnydale.
Meanwhile Xander locks Anya in the closet after she complains too much and takes Buffy to Dracula's. At the castle, Buffy is still under Dracula's spell and can't seem to stake him.
Xander tries to stop Riley from going in to help Buffy. He knocks Xander out and continues on. Giles finds a door, but can't see inside and falls inside, which is several feet below the door. He is surrounded by the sister vamps. Buffy drinks Dracula's blood and a flash of memories help her pull herself together. She manages to stake him, and Riley and Giles appear. You see them leave when Dracula's dust rises. He forms into himself again, but is immediately staked, because Buffy knew he will come back.
Buffy talks to Giles, telling him she wants to be a Slayer and that she wants him to be her Watcher, and Giles is pleased. At home Buffy announces to her mother that she is going out with Riley. She goes to her room, where she discovers a young girl looking around in her room. Buffy's mom tells Buffy to take her sister, and the both shout "Mom!"

Buffy asks Giles to become her Watcher again.

Goofs
When Buffy talks to Giles she has a chain around her waist in some scenes and doesn't in others.

Three actors who appeared in this episode have also appeared on Angel. Scott Berman, who played a mover, was the vendor in 'Blind Date'. Jennifer Slimko, who was one of the sisters, was a Romanian woman in 'Five by Five'. Edward James Gage, who was the other mover, appeared in 'Judgement'.
