Cool 54 degree weather greeted the
riders for the last April ride.
The route chosen for the evening consisted of town roads south and
east of County Highway W before it crosses the series of lakes just out of
Phillips. From this area the
group crossed lucky Highway 13 and rode more town roads east of Phillips
before eventually ending the ride on County Highway D. I was on the long downhill on
County K where the evenings action unfolded. It was here that Tom Harris
unshipped his chain. Jason
Ruesch helped Tom catch back up to the group. (For this Tom has pledged to give
Jason a Free Pull card.) The group accelerated sharply on County D with
Joe Coyle being the driving force.
At the sprint Joe was the winner on the night showing good early
season form. After the ride
Tom Harris would set a new club precedent with the Three Minute
Rule. The Three Minute Rule
states that when the last piece of pizza, or desert or glass of beer is
known, if after three minutes no one has claimed that last item, a person
may take the last serving without admonishment, fear of criticism, or
guilt.
