Ride Report July 30, 2008
Wednesday July 30th Medford
There were 12 riders on hand for the Medford ride on a beautiful night for biking. The ride left from the palatial Ken Kraft estate north of Medford. Riders on hand were George, Jason, Paula, Mindy, Nathan, Tom, Katrina, Rick, Jeff, Joe, Ken Jones, and Bryan.
The evening's route consisted of highway M to E, north on E to the Park Road back out to County D. From D the group headed south on E back to County M and the Kraft estate.
Two riders, Jason and Paula made a short night of it in anticipation of the upcoming 24 Hours of Nine Mile. The rest of the group stayed together until the first climb on County E. It was here that Bryan, Joe, Jeff, Ken, Nathan, George, and the Harris tandem.
It was on the final hill before Ken's house that the big move took place. The Harris tandem launched an attack that no one could stay with. With that move the Harris tandem won the sprint with Joe second and Bryan taking third.
After the ride the group enjoyed a bountiful selection of food prepared by Ken. The group enjoyed brats, potato salad, lettuce salad, and brownies. Ken had beer too.
