Ride Report May 28, 2008
There were 11 riders on hand for the May 28 road ride in Medford. This had to be the night with the least amount of wind all year. On a beautiful night for biking Todd, Julie, Joe, Mindy, Paula, Mark Temme, Michelle, Tom, Katrina, Nathan, and Bryan were on hand for the ride.
Since the Club rarely rides south of Medford the County O, E, A, C, and O loop was chosen. Michelle Brost started the action by setting a strong time trial pace as the group headed out of Medford on Cedar Street. The group was content to give Michelle a long leash for the early part of the ride.
Michelle sat up on County A and the group joined up with her just before Stetsonville. No "big hat sign" sprint was contested.
Out of Stetsonville Michelle again picked up the pace. Again the group was content to let her dangle. It was not until County O heading back to Medford that a chase was organized. The Harris/Harris tandem, Joe, Mindy, and Nathan took off in hot pursuit of Michelle. Bryan worked with the Zumach/Zumach tandem to keep them with in reasonable distance of the chase group. The Harris tandem and Joe caught the time trialling Michelle. Bryan passed Mindy and caught Nathan and together they caught Michelle who may have been in the cool down mode by then.
After the ride the group enjoyed refreshments at the Bormann house.
