Ride Report May 21, 2008
There were 11 riders on hand at the home of Todd and Julie Zumach in Phillips this Wednesday May 21. Riders were Todd, Julie, Scott, Nancy, Mark, Megan, Tom, Katrina, Nathan, Jeff, and Bryan. We picked up John Hendricks late in the ride.
The group started off by heading west on County W. They turned north on to Flemings Rapids Road to County F. The Group road on F and then turned west on Crane Chase Road. The group made it's way to County F popping up in Lugerville. The pace of the ride picked up on County F down to Short Cut Road. The group then turned on to Deer Creek Road, dropped off Scott and Nancy and returned to Phillips on County F.
By this time four bikes were in the hunt for the sprint finish. The Peterson/Peterson tandem, The Harris/Harris tandem, Bryan and John. The Peterson Tandem took off fast and hard for the finish, with the Harris tandem following, and Bryan behind them. Despite a helping push from John Hendricks, Bryan could not close the gap. At the finish it was the Peterson tandem first, the Harris tandem second, and Bryan third.
After the ride Julie Zumach served a tasty post ride meal of baked potatoes served with a variety of delicious toppings. Two deserts were served, a lime bar and some blueberry coffee cake.
