May 30
Ride Report - May 30, 2007
Medford - Tom and Katrina Harris
The uncertain weather may have kept the numbers down tonight,
but it turned out to be a great night without a drop of rain,
albeit a bit windy, as we gathered at the Harris abode.
Chris and Jeff made the trek down from Park Falls,
Mark from Phillips, Ken Long, Nathan, Bryan, Mindy, Mark T., and Tom
rounded out the roadies. Katrina road a short loop on mountain bike with her sister?
We headed out east with a brisk wind hitting us from the south.
Bryan and Tom proved to be iron men as they led us out for many a
mile before relinquishing the head. All took their pulls as we
headed south at a decent clip. Turning back West we headed into Dorchester
(is that pronounced Dooster?). Mindy took a detour there to check out her old digs.
Heading north, the tail-wind failed to live up to its hoped for billing.
Tom started to ramp up the pace and everyone responded.
Ken pushed it up even farther and the group started to falter.
Jeff next took the lead, Mark dropped off, and Bryan came up from
behind to join the front breakaway. The pace slowed as we neared
the industrial parks and we regrouped for the final ride up to the house.
Everyone retired to the Harris house and a well-deserved beverage. Nacho chips and cheese awaited us, followed by make your own tacos. A delish Mexican Fried Ice Cream pie followed. MMM good!
Thank you Katrina and Tom. God's Blessings as you await the big day!
June 6 is in Rib Lake at the Frosted Mug. See you there
