Ride Report - June 6, 2007
Rib Lake
Weather woes seem to continue to plague Wednesday nights.
Reports of severe storms approaching the area, late afternoon rains,
and high winds kept the numbers down. But four intrepid souls journeyed to
Rib Lake to brave the elements. The wind was high, the temperature dropping, but the
roads were mostly dry, and not a drop of rain fell.
Tom, Mark W, Bryan, and a 4th rider to be named later, headed out 102 to C. C proved challenging
as the wind was directly in our faces. The ride was all the more difficult for the 4th rider,
who, somehow, came to Rib Lake with everything needed
for a ride, except, cleats in the bike shoes. Talk about wanting a challenging ride.
The rider bravely rose to the challenge, but finally turned back a couple of miles down C.
Sleuth if you must, but the name will not be revealed officially until the final ride!
At Hwy 64 we turned around and enjoyed somewhat of a tailwind
back to Rib Lake. The sprint into Rib Lake was handily won by Mr. Harris.
The Frosted Mug welcomed us once again with hot pizza and cold beverages.
Next week we will hope for better weather and a greater turnout. We will be starting
from Joe Coyle's (N9130 N Worcester Rd.)
house in the Phillips area. See you there!
