Ride Report - July 4, 2007

July 4th - Independence Day! - Freedom!

For the Ten riders who showed up at the Roberts', it was an expression of independence. We don't need to go down to the park. We don't need the fireworks. We're free!

It was a beautiful night for a ride, and we took advantage of it. We cruised out W, traversing some very nice new pavement on the way to Hwy M. At the turnaround, the tamdem of Anderson-Anderson took the point and flew home at a relaxed 22 mph.

Back at the Roberts' estate, Shayne was busy at the grill, grilling chicken wings to perfection. Vickie had worked her magic, and made some very tasty sauces. The hot-hot sauce seemed to be the favorite. It did a great job of numbing the tongue and lips. Watch out what you touch. Fantastic, tasty, oatmeal etc cookies topped off the meal. Mmm mmm good. Fireworks? What fireworks?

July 11 we will be riding from Blomberg's High Point Village. See the ride schedule for directions. Their regular Wednesday mountain bike ride will be taking place on the Timm's Hill trail. You are welcome to join them, or invite other Fat Tire folks to ride. Ken Kraft says he will be grilling dead animal parts for our enjoyment.

Don't forget to check out the WORS site and the WISport site. See how Holly and Kyle are doing in their respective events. Both are doing quite well. Be sure to give them a thumbs up if you see them.

Also, just a note fromt the webmaster. It's been great to see the number of hits on the website. While not huge, we've seen a good number of hits, 46 over the past 7 days. Thanks for making use of the info.
